My husband and I are new parents to a pair of Weimaraner's, first time dog owners and everytime we take the pups outside they head right for the siding on the house, rocks or the bark in the yard. Is there anyway to break them from eating this stuff? I know it might sound like a silly question, but they swallow these rocks and bark and it can't be good for them. We tried pretty much everything suggested by the vet & pet shops, nothing seems to work. We have purchased all sorts of toys and chews. Any suggestions? We don't want any harm to come to them from eating this stuff. Thank you.

My mom tells me that my big brother Jaeger is quite the rock eater! Truth be told, he'll eat anything he can get in his mouth...
What she has found helpful (although not a cure by any means) is to distract him with something much more fun than a rock, like a tennis ball being tossed or a soccer ball rolling across the yard. Maybe that will help! We weims get really bored playing by ourselves and tend to do silly things like eating rocks when we can't find something more entertaining.
