Hey Wilo. I don't know much (if anything) about lure coursing, but I found this link online. It has a whole bunch of information about the sport, what dogs are accepted, and who is in charge of organizing events. I'm sure somewhere on there there is a contact for clubs in your area. Good luck!

Lure coursing is open to any breed. Even Pembroke Welsh Corgis have earned titles in it. Contact AKC for a list of clubs in your area.

Actually, only certain breeds can get lure coursing titles in AKC.

However there may be some other organizations with different rules. Also, many clubs will hold "fun days" where any breed can participate. My Golden has done lure coursing about 5 times at different events held by Whippet Clubs, Dog Scouts, training clubs, etc...

From AKC's website:
"Lure Coursing
Lure coursing is an event for all Sighthounds.
Afghan Hounds, Basenjis, Borzois, Greyhounds, Ibizan Hounds, Irish Wolfhounds, Italian Greyhounds, Pharaoh Hounds, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Salukis, Scottish Deerhounds, and Whippets are eligible."

From AKC's Regulations for Lure Coursing:
"SECTION 3. ELIGIBILITY OF SIGHTHOUNDS.
Only purebred Afghan Hounds, Basenjis, Borzois,
Greyhounds, Ibizan Hounds, Irish Wolfhounds, Italian
Greyhounds, Pharaoh Hounds, Rhodesian Ridgebacks,
Salukis, Scottish Deerhounds and Whippets that are
one year of age or older, that have been registered
with The American Kennel Club, or part of an AKC registered
litter, or otherwise, if whelped outside of the
United States of America and owned by a resident of the
USA, or of a country with a foreign registry organization
whose pedigrees are acceptable for AKC registration and is registered with that registry, or that have been
granted an Indefinite Listing Privilege (ILP), and
Sighthounds eligible to compete in the conformation
Miscellaneous Class are eligible to participate in
lure coursing tests and trials and be awarded the
prefix title of Field Champion and the suffix titles of
Junior Courser, Senior Courser or Master Courser."

Hmm, it must have been a different organisation. I saw the kennel on a website and most of their dogs has an entry level coursing title. All were PWC's. I did think it was funny they were allowed to course but thought it was neat. I will try to find the website again.

Ok, well I cant find the kennel anymore. It was something-butts (not bunny-butts) I ran across it while looking for PWC breeders that do herding and conformation. If anyone finds it let me knowsmile
