Brandi is taking a canine interaction course this summer

Brandi and I are involved with some super wonderful trainers this summer. We are doing a canine interaction class that is basically good socialization for the dog and will garner atttention from the dog to the owner/trainer so they will be more receptive to training. So far we've done quite well. Our target, spot and lure to heel is very well developed with only three weeks into the training. Brandi wasn't socalized at all in her first two years. She was a conformation table dog and wasn't allowed out in the world as much as she should have been. So this class is not only helping her learn to cope with the stress of the big bad world she is also learning to look to me her trainer/owner for guidance as well as building confidence in herself. It's just a wonderful all round training for us.

Sounds wonderful! My kennel kept rescue boy is a little noise sensitive, okay ~ a lot noise and visually sensitive, but it is about 50% better in the year and a half I've had him.

This sounds like a smart class with a good instructor and I hope you two will build those obedience bonds. There's nothing like working as a team with your dog!

That sounds like an awesome class!
I wish more people focused on that overlooked problem, that's for sure. If there was one like that around here we'd probably be competing in rally right now, but instead I can retain everything at home while Mom focuses on other stuff smile I don't mind, I was really indifferent to it all, but that's great to hear there are such classes out there!cheer
