I scored some whole duck today for 1.99 a lb, so I picked up 4 of them. Brady finished a whole 4.5 lb duck, and Bruschi ate about half of a 5 lb duck (I took it away after he got half way through it)

They LOOOOVED it! I thought they would stop when then got full, but they just wanted to keep eating.

I am buying a bigger freezer this week and will be picking up a whole lamb for 2.19 a lb. smile

We've been slowly transitioning to gorge/fast, and they've been eating about 3-4 lbs every other day.

Hah, that's because they weren't full yet. Not physically. You did the right thing, giving them big, challenging RMBs and taking it away when you felt the dog had its fill. No crunch & gulp for you! Soon enough a 4 lb. duck will all go down in one go for you, eh?

Awesome! snoopy

I can't find duck for less than 2.49/lb. I get it occasionally for the cats - Byron's not a huge fan. There's just so little meat compared to the bone and fat that I'm always a bit disappointed. The cats never are though! big grin

*ducks* Oh, wait...I get it now. You mean duck, not "Duck!"laugh out loud JK...yeah, I'm lame with jokes like that. :-P

Awesome score! The only whole prey I've been able to get here thus far is cornish hens and young chickens.

Brady is 59 lbs and ate a whole 4.5 lb duck.... I thought 6% of their weight fills their stomach? I figured 6% of 59 lbs is 3.54 lbs so 4.5 pounds would defintely fill him?

He could've eaten more, I was just nervous.... is it possible for them to eat too much, even if they are used to gorging?
