Spencie is WILD!! I'm talking bat-crap CRAZY!! He digs in the carpet or pees on the couch whenever I don't pay 100% attention to him. (NOTE: do not get a pug if you are trying to write your Master's thesis) .........HOWEVER, I LOVE this little boy with my whole heart. I grew up with pugs and other breeds, but I never knew the joy of having one for my very own. We are two peas in a pod!

The only advice I have is be stern, but be loving. Someone else mentioned that pugs are very sensitive. It's so easy to break their spirit!
When I leave him, he goes nuts for about 30 minutes, and then finally quiets down. I keep telling him, "Mommy has to go to work to buy puppy treats!"

From GranPa's parents: Yes, pugs do act this way. A pug's job is to be your companion at ALL times, and when they feel they are not doing their job, they get anxious, sad, and even depressed. Pugs need LOTS of love. We had other breeds before (German Shepperds, pitbulls, cross breeds) and none of them needed that much attention as a pug does. Be patient and keep giving them lots of love. One thing that helped Granpa when we were not around is that we gave him a dirty even sweaty shirt his daddy was using and he would fall asleep smelling it. This would calm him until we got back. In due time, he noticed we were not going to leave him alone forever. Of course, through the years it got better. Granpa is now 11 years old, and knows that we will always come back. Hope this helps. puppy
