Yes Rufio, it is better if food is moderately pureed. Shorter digestive tracts means they won't break down, say, carrots, and get the nutrients unless it is grated or mashed up some. I got a lot of the ingredients from a reputable source off E-BAy because I am lazy!!!happy dance

Lilly is on Now! Small Breed. http://www.petcurean.com/index.php?page_id=209
It was the food that the breeder had her on. She seems to like it how ever she gets some pretty smelly fish breath from it sometimes.

I have been thinking of switching her to Acana small breed http://www.championpetfoods.com/acana/products.php or Orijen http://www.orijen.ca/orijen/products/

My sister has a large dog (husky X german shepard) and she feeds her the regular Acana and really likes it. The breeder I got Lilly from said she was feeding her dogs Orijen for a while but they seemed to gain alot of weight on that brand. I am not sure what to do . . . stick with the Now! or switch it up. shrug any suggestions from other pommie owners?

The home made doggy stew looks interesting! Do you feed half a muffin size twice a day?

Yes, Lilly, half a muffin twice a day, so one whole muffin in one day.The recipe has been checked for calories; amazing that a 6# pommie only needs 250 calories per day. And 2 TBL of the dairy. He also gets a bit of carrot and natural peanut butter in his Kong when I leave for work, so he is actually ignoring me when I go out the door!laugh out loudlaugh out loudlaugh out loud

Lilly, my poms did really well on Orijen. It likely has more calories per cup than Now! does so you may need to decrease the amount that you feed in order to prevent weight gain. Keep the number of calories that you feed constant and her weight will remain the same.
