I'm trying to find my boy a travel/soft kennel/crate. its so hard to determine if one is any good over product descriptions. Any recommendations? He's 55 lbs. I'm looking for one with easy set up. I have one now with detectable poles that u need to take in and out for set up and its just a pain. Perfer smaller "windows" or one with window/side covers. Of course needs to be affordable (I'm broke, lol) and durable. Any suggestions?

ooohh I do like Pets Best. Do you know if they increase rates due to a pet's aging?

Pet first is awesome because the pets share a pool of coverage. The preferred plan is $12,000. I'm very sure its possibly but I don't see both dogs costing me that much in one year. I really hope not. As far as I read they don't increase rates for aging and they don't discriminate against breeds. That I am able to tell at least. You can customize the plans to take off the routine care or you get $250.00 per pet per year. As you can tell I'm really leaning towards them. Has any one had any experience with them?

After experiencing still increasing vet cost with my cat, I've decided to get a insurance plan for the two dogs. And the cat if she survives cry
Does any one have any recommendations for what company to go with? Obviously we want a good coverage for a good price. I dont care so much about continuous coverage for conditions but I do want something that will cover cancer costs. If it covers shots and other regular vet costs than awesome but not a requirement.
I was looking at FirstPet because I really like their family plan. But I noticed they raised than prices from last time I looked and not too please about that. I was also looking at PetPlan which doesn't seem too expensive for decent coverage. But I want to shop around some more before committing.

When I was younger I rollerbladed with a previous dog, never had a problem at all. I even did it with 2 dogs with no problems besides what was mentioned, the stopping. I tried it once with Karu, we went at a slow pace and worked great for the first 2 blocks then he cut in front of me... the result was a broken arm and lots of medical bills. I never touched the things again. I said if you were going to do it make sure your dog knows to stay on one side of you.

I also biked with the previous dog with no problems.

He brought her to the e-vet last night. they trimmed it and closed it with glue and shes on antibiotics. They think it looks like it was caught on a fence or she ran up against a nail on a fence rather. But I checked my whole back yard 4 times and bf did too and there is nothing we could find. I did find a stick in the bf's house though that had a wedged end like it had been cut and it appeared to have had something on it, not water, but it was marked like it had something on it . I'm thinking that could have been it and I didn't realize when I picked her up. But the vet said it was unlikely. We probably will never know. Shes moping around cause she can't go play but she'll be ok.

Thanks. When I found it, it looked like it had happened maybe an hour or so ago. Still very much red with not signs infection or healing. I know that doesn't mean its not infected. Hoping the bf wont kill me

I called the E-Vet, well whoever answers the phones at least and they said it doesn't sound life threatening and can wait until tomorrow. I'm still freaking out. I put some antibiotic ointment on a non stick bandage and wrapped that to her side. But now I'm worried I shouldn't be covering it. Until I put the bandage on she was acting like nothing was wrong, now shes just upset cause she was the wrap/bandage off her. I feel so horribly bad.

I'm watching my boyfriend's dog for thanksgiving. Hes out of town, should be home in a couple hours. I finally got the dogs inside from being outside for 2 hours and I noticed what looked like a scratch on his dog, I check it out and it is a hole in her side, the flappy skin by the waist. Its not bleeding but it is a hole! I know its going to need to be stitched and she needs to see a vet. Does she need to get to the ER tonight or can she wait until tomorrow morning? Is there anything I could put on this to stop infection until a vet can see her? Yes I'm going to call the emergency vet now. But I know they are gonna say bring her in. They always say that.

I agree Karu needs to be walked more but hes actually a fairly calm dog. Hes just very strong. If I tell him to go lay down he will, but the puppies, both of them, will not leave him alone until he plays with them. Do you think that has something to do with the peeing? We thought so at first but Lyra does the peeing thing even when Karu is not around, like in a different house. We took the puppies( no Karu) to a pet festival over the weekend, we were there for 3 hours, we walk into the house (again no Karu there) and first thing she does is pee literally across the house, it was a line stretching across 3 rooms. She also does this at his Grandma's house, which Karu has never been to.
Whats your opinion on why she is peeing? Bf thinks she is submissive peeing but i disagree. It looks more like marking to me.

Is there anyway to fix the resource guarding? If one day we all did live together it wouldn't be pick up the toys when other dogs are around, instead it would be no toys or chews ever again. And I really don't like that idea.

Karu plays very rough, he does not realize his strength at all. Alots of wrestling. Which I think sometimes he takes it too far because Lyra will turn around and attack him, not just in play fight way. Poor Jacy is covered in scratched from her big Bro playing too rough. We do break up the fighting when it seems too be too rough or too much. If we just hold Karu back the puppies both will just come back for more.

Me and Lyra's relationship is ok I guess. We take turns feeding them, but its more me than him because I try to feed them seperate and I need to be there to keep everybody in their own corners and food bowls.
Other than walking her to the car and to the house I dont really walk Lyra. If we walk the dogs together I normally have my two and him Lyra. Bf has no interest in walking Karu, I use alot of hand signals and commands walking Karu maybe bf is scared off by that? And frankly I have no interest in walking Lyra, she pulls, shes going to classes for that now and is better, but I haven't tryed walking her since then. As far as affection, honestly not can remember if she does seek it out from me.

Yes she does guard her food towards other dogs. I haven't really tryed to stick my hand in there but she seems to be ok with humans taking her toys and food. Will we never be able to have toys out with her? I really like to give the dogs chews and even stuffed kongs but that can't happen because she will not only guard hers but take the other dogs. Karu was playing with a ball once and she attacked him for it. It wasn't even at her house or a ball she had played with before.
