Dog Health > Odd rocking motion

Hi,

Summer the 2 year old Cattle Dog has been doing an odd rocking motion every now and again over the last month. She lies with her legs out behind her on the grass or the concrete and then rocks backwards and forwards a few times with her belly and inner legs flat to the ground. She's also licking that region a bit more than normal but its not red or irritated looking. Nothing stuck in the fur either that we can see. Any ideas as to why?

Thanks.

It's been a while since I've been able to get on here, it kept locking me out for some reason.

We're on the move again, hopefully. Moving in with another couple who have a fuzz butt called "Opie" who's a Kelpie x Staffy. Going through his adolescent rat bag stage atm, jumping and barking at things but when "thing" is a cicada insect as long as my middle finger I'm ok with that! Big enclosed yard at the place we've applied for which the little guy will love as they live in a duplex with a terrace at the back.

I'm going to go back a few pages and do some reading provided our internets stay with us. I'm going to post a Q in health too, funny feeling Summer may have thrush if thats possible?

wishes

Sonja, that sounds like my type of bag! I'm using a giant cloth bag for a purse atm, because it can fit my work apron and a book in it, which is a top priority for me laugh out loud

Waiting on a call from hubby or the hospital as there was a incident at work to do with stock falling on him. $1,500 printers type "stock falling on him". By law they have to take him to ER to be checked. Not sure about arrangements to get him home though. meditate Pizza and chocolate mousse on order to help cheer him up.

Flicka - holy sheesh! Thats allot of water. Maybe once the water table underneath fills up it'l just sit on top like its doing here after the big storms? Or is the sandstone dissolving in spots? Combo?

Everything is very very green and lush, hopefully this continues into the summer months as I need to fix the gardens here after the storms and mains damage. Some of the tree's are missing chunks. My roses are starting to recover, a bit of a trim here and there and three out of 20 have buds on them again and one lone yellow flower.

No luck with getting the cat, landlord said no. The cats not chipped and needs a new home regardless so I may have to take him to the v-e-t or a rescue group if I can.

Summer, Dunlop's cousin tried taking me for a walk this morning wink Aunty J isn't so easy to haul over as you'd think. She learnt very quickly that even on wet ground and my two legs to her four that she wasn't going anywhere I didn't want her to.

I'll have to catch up later today on things, but if all goes to plan Mitch and I will be adopting a cat thats been hanging at his parents house since last July. We put posters and stuff up then when he first turned up but he was too skittish to be picked up to get him checked for a chip. Fast forward and we are able to cuddle him, nuzzle his fur and give belly rubs as well. And he's kid friendly and dog savvy. A friend is going to check him for a chip for me today after she picks her kids up from school. What does one need when first taking home a cat? He'l be restricted to the laundry till he figures out the litter box and gets used to us. We're thinking "Nermal" for a name for him. Grey and white tabby with big green eyes. More white than tabby.

Catsters undergoing a flea bath otherwise i'd make a post there.

Anyone want some rain?

We had a category 2 cyclone come through on monday night/tuesday morning. Those who are on the faceless book have probably seen me post non stop weather and traffic updates over the last few days. Basicaly... we're soaked, battered, parts of the town are under water and we have tree and tree bits everywhere. I'll post some links up when our power comes back on -- we had more rain and hail too about an hour ago. Bye bye power for the night I think.

wishesflowers For Sonja and family.

Hot, humid, sticky and you can hear the mosquitoes buzzing past. We've had pockets of that light misty rain that just seems to make it worse. Out tomatoes are splitting on the vine due to the humidity.

We've made just over 70 jars of favours. Strawberry jams, marmalade, fruit chutney. Now to do another 30 - flavor suggestions??

Dunlop is losing giant handfulls of fur because of the heat. He actually climbed into the lake with another dog for company and submerged himself almost completely and then stayed in the water!

Sarah & Sanka. A friend had one as a kid that got put up very high after it freaked her sibling out,he was ten years her junior, so very little. It 're animated' itself one night whilst we had a sleep over. 'Furbie! Furrrrbie not happppy' we screamed. And screamed. We took the batteries out of it after that. Blasted animatronic night mare.

Thats the type of mechanic you want to keep Toto!

Mitch's sister bought a ACD pup before xmas. 'Summer' has just turned one and is starting to learn more than just "Sit'. She was allowed to have a browse through the house today and found a Furbie in the toy room, sitting on a shelf at just the right height. She nose poked it and it started singing at her. Off she took! Down the hall, 360 around the coffee table and was standing on guard at the end of the hall way. Ears up, tail up and hackles on the double. Was really funny to watch as Summer is an intensley stuborne dog. Nothing is too big and bad for her to take on including other, select, dogs.... we're working on it though. She & Dunlop will have a grump at each other and then they are fine shrug

Long time no see -

We've kinda skipped summer and gone straight to autumn. It's rained for the past three weeks. On and off, occasional hot day and then straight back to raining. I spent Australia day in long jeans and a jumper confused Dunlop sticks his head out the dog flap, huffs and goes to sit back on the couch. The frogs outside in the garden are LOUD too!

Apart from that, nothing much to report. Wedding stuff going full speed ahead, met with the cake lady yesterday and her three GSP's, Mortimer, Archibald and Augustus. And met with her amphibious chorus out the front as well. Met with flower lady and her large broods of small critters, house inspection went Aok, & i'm learning to deal with windows 8 silenced
