wishesflowers For Sonja and family.

Hot, humid, sticky and you can hear the mosquitoes buzzing past. We've had pockets of that light misty rain that just seems to make it worse. Out tomatoes are splitting on the vine due to the humidity.

We've made just over 70 jars of favours. Strawberry jams, marmalade, fruit chutney. Now to do another 30 - flavor suggestions??

Dunlop is losing giant handfulls of fur because of the heat. He actually climbed into the lake with another dog for company and submerged himself almost completely and then stayed in the water!

Sarah & Sanka. A friend had one as a kid that got put up very high after it freaked her sibling out,he was ten years her junior, so very little. It 're animated' itself one night whilst we had a sleep over. 'Furbie! Furrrrbie not happppy' we screamed. And screamed. We took the batteries out of it after that. Blasted animatronic night mare.

Thats the type of mechanic you want to keep Toto!

Mitch's sister bought a ACD pup before xmas. 'Summer' has just turned one and is starting to learn more than just "Sit'. She was allowed to have a browse through the house today and found a Furbie in the toy room, sitting on a shelf at just the right height. She nose poked it and it started singing at her. Off she took! Down the hall, 360 around the coffee table and was standing on guard at the end of the hall way. Ears up, tail up and hackles on the double. Was really funny to watch as Summer is an intensley stuborne dog. Nothing is too big and bad for her to take on including other, select, dogs.... we're working on it though. She & Dunlop will have a grump at each other and then they are fine shrug

Long time no see -

We've kinda skipped summer and gone straight to autumn. It's rained for the past three weeks. On and off, occasional hot day and then straight back to raining. I spent Australia day in long jeans and a jumper confused Dunlop sticks his head out the dog flap, huffs and goes to sit back on the couch. The frogs outside in the garden are LOUD too!

Apart from that, nothing much to report. Wedding stuff going full speed ahead, met with the cake lady yesterday and her three GSP's, Mortimer, Archibald and Augustus. And met with her amphibious chorus out the front as well. Met with flower lady and her large broods of small critters, house inspection went Aok, & i'm learning to deal with windows 8 silenced

Send the rain my way! We'l have it! Its meant to get to FOURTY THREE! We've had to run sprinklers for hours to keep the grass alive as per the lease. I'm sunburnt one one side from moving the sprinklers around.

We get this little "delightful" visitor each summer called a "Christmas Beetle". The little dears swarm lights, glass doors, BBQ's, sporting events, my drive thru window at work and make good entertainment for dogs and cats who are in a playful mood. Dunlop caught one, had it climb out of his mouth over his lip and onto his muzzle where it proceeded to sit there and buzz at him. Cue one Border Collie gong nuts trying to get this thing off his nose. He head butted Dads knees in an effort to get past Dad and out to the grass near the garage. The beetle was bigger than a quarter. http://australianmuseum.net.au/Christmas-beetles

Third try at getting in!! Grrr!

G'day! Long time no see!

Thought I'd give you an update on Mitch's mother, last time I posted she'd had a stroke - she had more than just a stroke it turned out. She went under the knife yesterday in a special - ist hospital to remove two brain masses. She's not out of the woods yet and is in ICU for two weeks minimum. So far so good though, they have the sedation at a exact level to keep the brain active but happy.

We caught a train at 1.40 AM to get to the hospital in time to see her before she went in, Mitch didn't sleep for 29 hours because of train times (I napped on his shoulder but we both napped in the hospital)

cheer Here's to stubborn women!

Did I tell you guys we moved into an actual proper house and have a house mate now as well?? Can't remember...

Jem would have had a fabulous time going after the wild bunny Dunlop spotted on the hill a week back then! Led Dunlop on a good chase for 600 odd meters, across the dam, down the ditch and across the golf course with Mum at a loss of what to do! She hadn't seen him move that fast ever! Very tired but happy doggles.

Settled into the new house well, passed teh first house inspection, discovered what teh second fruit tree is (mardarine!!), compost heap is getting a work out with all the clippings off the plants, roses have been fed and watered, I re-organised the garage so things are easier for us to find, including my weeding forks! Just need fuel for the mower now.

Flicka, I'll send you a graphics related pm in a minute, just need to find my power cable for the lappy...

*waves g'day*

Speaking of snakes, dad had a bike in for a service and filter seal replacement last week. Pulled air filter and box out to find all this fur and grass stashed in it. Something had made a home in the filter. Something followed little critter bome and had little critter for supper...then shed its skin...in the air filter. Skin was ID'd as a baby Brown snake. Dad is a bit jumpy now!

Stupid coin counter at work almost gave me a headt attack. My till was down -- SOP states pull all draws and recount. Check safe...All done and still down. Manual check however confirmed that the draw was fine. Stupid bloody machine had counted a $100 as a $50!?! Buying the manager who figured that out a chocolate or two!

Mitch's mum got sent home yesterday. No beds available in the stroke ward. She's still not 100% there mentally. Not sure if its med related or what yet

Flicka how did you convince Missure Copperhead to leave the box? Trying to convince a male cat my front door and garden are not suitable spots to mark. Going to blend half a dozen lemons today and spray his prefered spots. Also putting shishcabob sqewers in too.

We'v gone from Autumn to mid winter in a day. Its currently seven degrees celcius and blowing a gale. I'm gonna get fabric today from the sewing pavilion and make more door snakes. Need some big ones for the sliding door. Wonder if I can get dog related fabric...thinking
