Both your ability to communicate clearly with her, and your ability to read what she is trying to tell you, will help you raise her to be the dog you're dreaming of.
I really like the Control Unleashed book by Leslie McDevitt, especially if you want to lay a foundation for a great partnership with your dog. A great partnership really enhances any sports training you do in the future. Leslie has a Control Unleashed Puppy Program book which you might want to check out. Leslie also has some great dvds which I have personally found to be invaluable, because she demos with many different dogs, and I can see her timing, and exactly what she is looking for from the dog.
I also really agree with the previous post, that you don't want to push so hard and so quickly that you burn out your pup.

Dog Health > Prozac: Risks? Experiences?

It has made him much more comfortable in his own skin. The second thing that made a huge difference for him was teaching him to relax. I would suggest Karen Overall's Relaxation protocol. After these two things began helping, then we were able to begin working outside the house again, with the look at that game. In the beginning, if your dog really is that anxiety ridden, you need to give him a break from anxiety provoking situations, and then gradually work on expanding his world. Leslie McDevitt has some wonderful ideas in her book, Control Unleashed, which we used once Dennis had some stability from the Reconcile and relaxation work at home. Reconcile (prozac)returns plasticity to the neurons in the brain, so the dog can more easily forge new pathways in the brain when relearning behaviors. That is the best way I can explain it. Hope it helps!

Choosing the Right Dog > Hunting breeds

Anxiety is not an inherent breed trait. A well bred vizsla should be sensitive but not overly anxious or shy. What is an inherent breed trait is their "velcro-ness" to their family, but from your original post, I thought that was something that you found desirable. It's good to keep researching the breeds until you find the perfect fit.
