You can always get a 1 million volt stun gun, most of the time just the zapping sound alone is enough to stop a dog on it's tracks.

You should definitely check out Orijen Regional Red, it's made using only red meat and it's grain free.

a 5lb bag usually costs around 21-24$

Dog Health > Vaccination reaction

Every dog reacts differently to vaccines, if he has been acting like this for 3 days I would definitely call my vet and let them know. When Chico has his shots he's usually sore and a lethargic but he usually returns back to 100% normal after one day.

Sorry to hear about what you guys are going through.

Have you tried Veterycin? It's a non toxic spray that you can spray on the affected area. It usually goes for around $14-20 dollars at your local pet store or Amazon. I would give it a shot even if its just for temporary relief. It has some very good reviews on Amazon and one of the best things is that it's non toxic. But you might want to invest in a Cone of shame.

Food & Nutrition > Still very hungry after eating ZiwiPeak?

Chico

So I got some ZiwiPeak the other week, around December 23 to be honest. I've had him on it since that date and I've given him about 2oz. I give him a full scoop of it and 2 hours after that I see him eating anything he can find under the couch or just sniffing around for anything he can eat.

The last time I got him weighed he was at 16lbs that was about 3 months ago. On the bag it says that the recommended portion is 2oz or a bit more if the dog gets a lot of exercise. His exercise level is normal. Since I work 5 days of the week we usually go on 1 hour walks before I leave for work. Then just around our block when I get home since I get home at around 3 A.M.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem on ZiwiPeak? I don't want him to get over weight either since he's almost 11. Does it usually take this long for some dogs to get used to the smaller portions?

Dog Health > pinched nerve need advice

Chico had a pinched nerve in his back and would not even move without crying, took him in to the emergency vet and he prescribed him Rymadil. I just gave him around 3 doses and he was fine.

You should ask your vet about Rymadil or some anti inflammatory medication.

Senior Dogs > what is considered senior for a toy breed?

smaller dogs generally live longer than large breed dogs, I would consider a toy breed a senior once they hit 11-12 years old

Food & Nutrition > is there a healthy and grain free food without chicken?

I would recommend Orijen Regional Red, it's a pretty good food and it's all red meat and chicken free.

The first three ingredients are

Deboned Wild Boar
Fresh Deboned Lamb
and Beef Liver

It's also appropriate for all life stages

30-40$ a month will allow you to feed him the best food possible.

My dog weighs 16 pounds and I'm currently feeding him Orijen which comes out at about $23 per 5lb bag, which lasts him about a month.

You can feed him ZiwiPeak which is around 35$ and a bag will last you about a month 1/2

I feel for the family must have been one hell of a traumatizing thing to go through, obviously this officer has some sadistic tendencies with his shoot first/ask questions later mentality.

He should be discharged and charged with animal cruelty, but as with most cases he will most likely go on a paid vacation while this case gets investigated while the family of this dog goes to counseling.

I live in Fort Worth and I've been pulled over once while I had Chico in the back seat, and luckily the officer was really nice he must have been a dog person.
