Poor Megan! She was so happy getting the carrots in the Zealie Lotto drawing.

I wish her a beautiful spring with lots of green pastures and carrots. She is such a pretty pony.

Hugs and licks to Megan and family. We are keeping you in our thoughts.

I am interested in trying this...at least substituting a kibble meal here and there to start, and maybe raw treats. I have an incredibly stupid question...what types of bones are safe for dogs to eat?

Forgive me...I am totally and completely new to this. The only raw food that my dogs have gotten up til now has been beef ribs that we buy, cut up, freeze, and give as treats now and then, and a beef leg bone once in awhile. But I see here that whole chickens can be fed. Interesting! I never considered it before, but Tillie catches and eats gophers on occasion, so I suppose chicken bones wouldn't be much different. But I always thought bird bones were hollow and "splintery" (is that a word?), and fish bones sharp...they won't do internal damage when eaten?

So do most of you purchase your dogs' meals at the grocery store? Are there certain things to look for when buying human grade meat for your dog? What are the things to steer clear of? (I see weight bearing bones are bad, so no more leg bones.) I see the whole chickens on sale often and never considered it for my pups, but I think they'd like it.

Just curious, and want to sort of get my feet wet, so to speak.
