uh-huh. Yeah, I read back through this post after I posted. red face

Just stating my opinion and experiences. Didn't want to get in the middle of a battle big grin

All good points and it's definitely best to be informed then make the decision that is best for you and your pet. In my case, it was neutering. way to go

I agree with Ginger. Good breeding has so much to do with these traits.

Generally, if you see a breed used as a service dog in any capacity, it will have these characteristics. These breeds have to have the capability to be completely loyal, but high energy when needed.

GSD, Lab, Aussie...these are just the first that come to mind.

If you have ever been duck hunting with a well bred Lab then you will see all the calm/patient/trusting...then the engery/focus/excitement in one pupway to go

I think leaving your cat overnight after a spay is a pretty normal thing... I do understand your concerns, and applaud you for being aware of your pets needs.

But..it IS a low cost clinic...they probably don't have staff overnight because that would cost more...You do get what you pay forshrug

I agree a vet has taken an oath and you would think they would put the pets needs first. BUT...do you really want to take a new pet to the same clinic with that kind of care?? Nope. So just move on and maybe right a review for your local paper or something.

First, I want to say good for you Abbey for being responsible and getting your puppy spayed.

If you are not planning to breed your dog for show or hunting purposes, then that is being a very smart pet owner. Our dogs can't get testicular/ovarian cancer if they don't have the parts rightbig grin

Jeb was a rescue and neutered at 6 wks, he is a wonderful dog and has no problems that I would ever attribute to being desexed at an early age. (he likes to counter surf, but I don't think that is the root cause wink)

Sammy was neutered at 2 years old. He had a viral infection that actually was being harbored in his testicles, and having them removed has improved his health.

My family has always had dogs and we have always gotten them spayed/neutered early, other then the Labs my dad bred for hunting. None of the girls, mostly pups from strays that we took in, ever had any troubles from being spayed early.

Good luck with your puppyway to go
