I haven't found any active groups either, Ginny. There's a great group on the cat side, and I wish we had one over here, because it's nice to have that support group.

Yeah, allergy tests are not that conclusive. Alot of dogs do better with home cooked meals, there are no preservatives and everything is fresh.

Comfortis is prescription only because it's an FDA approved product. The company is really pushing Trifexis (which is comfortis with wormer) with Sentinel on it's backorder crisis.

Use fish oil mixed into food. The best is an anti-shed supplement, like MirraCoat or Linatone, but make sure the formula has zinc in it.

Have you tried the preventic collar? They really work well. The best flea control is program/sentinel. You have to be on it every single month for it to work though.

An ear flush is done under anesthesia, ears are flushed out completely and gunk is suctioned out. Then a thorough exam is done to look for debris, and ears are cleaned and treated.

Do a fecal analysis to check for giardia. They can get it from drinking out of water puddles and it has been raining lately. We always see alot of giardia in early spring at the clinic I work at. It is easily transferred between dogs also.
