The first year I had Zora I had wondered what I got myself into. She caused a lot of property damage and was extremely hyper. She has really settled in now (but it took her 3 years,) and I'm glad we stuck by her. She has turned into an amazing girl.

Choosing the Right Dog > Collie vs. Aussie

I have an Aussie who is simply wonderful, however she was a very difficult puppy, lots of biting breaking the skin and house breaking issues. At 2 years of age she's now very easy, but I'd say she didn't get her brains mailed to her until she was 18 months.

She's on the lazy side and does well with walks and playing ball, but she doesn't seem to require hard runs or extreme physical activity.

I think a Collie would be an easier dog, but if you want to get into agility or flyball, and Aussie is where it's at.

My Zora is deaf. It hasn't hindered her training at all, we simply use hand signals instead of verbal commands. She follows her hand signals well.

I would NOT suggest training an animal to go in the house, it will be a very difficult habit to break once established.
