Nope. The vet suggested Johnson and Johnson's baby powder. Should we try Gold Bond?

Hmmm...as a general rule we changed his food when the vet said it was most likely causing his most recent "break-out". Curious, how would expressing his anal glands help him stop scratching himself? With all the vets and specialist we've been to with him none of them have mentioned this as a issue or possible cause. He is getting recurring staph and fungal infections (sometimes smells just awful!). Most of the time we notice it under his chin, on his chest, between his hind legs and occasionally his front legs.

We tried grain free, corn free, wheat free. Tried chicken/rice, lamb/rice, veal, venison. All of his food has been hard food, except we did try adding yogurt to it sometime. Each dietary change we tried for a month or so. This has been going on for about 2 years. We have not tried any soft foods though.

Ok guys I need options. My dog is a 5 year old pit. He is the most gentle dog i have ever met. He has a canine good citizenship and works at a nursing home to help lift the spirits of the residents. He has a skin issue that causes him to scratch himself till he bleeds. We have tried several different vets, including a dog dermatologist. We have changed his food, given him benydrl, treated him for mange, given him baths every couple days, put powder on his skin to absorb moisture, etc. He licks between his paws, bites by his tail till it bleeds, and scratches his sides and his stomach till it bleeds. He has red spots that come and go on his stomach and under his chin. They look like its a rash. He has a underactive thyroid that he is on medication for. We have tried allergy shots and prescription allergy medications. This doesnt seem to be going away. We hate to see him like this all the time, but we have done literally everything we can think of. It is so bad we have to clean his wounds with hydrogen peroxide. (the wounds are the size of a handprint)
