Cookies 'n Cream smile I agree completely about using your judgment and deciding if things are reasonable to YOU, not just because someone else said they are. It's funny too, because I am a teacher as is my bf and this is exactly what we're teaching our students, to think for themselves....I see how very different our styles are.

The vet said something else that I hadn't heard before, that goldendoodles have finicky stomachs, more so than straight breeds she's seen. I wondered if there was any truth to this, as almost everything else she spewed was inaccurate. Does anyone else have a doodle they feed raw? Any problems?

Thanks for all the advice, support and resources! I would love to get a vet who supports raw feeding, but don't know where to find one! I'd rather not have to drive hours out of my way....anyone know one in the Toronto area?
We both own the dog, so it's tough to do only what I want even though I know it's best. I will keep trying to convince him to do some of his own research...I think, like any other topic you're passionate about, you can't put things down unless you really know what you're talking about. I'm still really pissed off with that vet, I knew about a a minute into the conversation that I wouldn't like anything she had to say. Gr!

A vet we haven't yet seen just told us that if we feed our dog chicken quarters the bones will splinter and she will either choke or stab her insides. She also said that raw diets are not balanced and it's too hard to get what they need on a regular basis. She completely turned my bf against me and now he only wants to feed kibble and won't listen to anything I have to say. He thinks nothing of the research I've done b/c it wasn't coming a vet, who apparently to him is the be all and end all of dog nutrition experts (haa!!!!). How do I turn him back on my side when he won't listen?

There's nowhere for her crate to go in our room, and she's much too loud to sleep with at night. We would get less sleep than are now! We simply want her to be on our schedule, not the other way around...if I want to sleep in past 6 a.m. on a weekend I think I should be able to.

How do you get a 5 mos old to stop waking you up at 6am every single morning? She is let out just before midnight and can easily go 8 hours before being let out. Like clockwork the barking starts and never stops until someone wakes up grumpily and lets her out. Help! Ignoring has not worked at all, she'll bark for hours.

She's only on chicken, and has been since the start...she's getting spayed at the end of November and we're told everything needs to be in tip top shape before then.

We haev a 5 mos. old puppy who is being crate trained in the day and at night. She's fine in the day, but at night and in the early morning we are having a problem. She will start barking at 6am, sometimes earlier every single day....we've been told by our trainer and several others to ignore her and only let her out when she's quiet, but it's not working. It's been months!!! She'll bark until someone comes down to her crate (she's in the kitchen) and then she'll be quiet when we're anywhere on the main floor...but we're losing lots of sleep here, especially on weekends! Advice please!

You know you are among dog lovers when poo conversations are a daily occurrence....I'm having the opposite problem, still, than the others with my pup. She is having very loose stools, and I've tried everything! Pumpkin doesn't work, tried adding probiotics, might have made it worse....She was getting a little liver regularly with her RMB so I tried cutting that out, but it hasn't change much...I'm really starting to worry that the raw isn't agreeing with her...agh!

We use a chest and it's great. We buy in bulk, pack everything in freezer bags and arrange as you want: organs one side, RMB other side...the bags easily pack onto each other but are small enough that you can move them if you need to get below for whatever reason.
