More praise... Can do! smile

Turning on the spot though, she will turn back over and over and become obsessed and sometimes she will even try to overpower me and pull me to the distraction.

I also try "being a tree" whenever she tries to get past me or if she gets distracted.

Hey guys, I just joined a couple of days ago. Seems like a great place to learn about dogs! Anyways, I have been trying to train my dog to walk behind or beside me. So far, she knows how to sit, lie down, and fetch on command. Most of the times, she listens to my commands, but I have found out that she can be extremely stubborn! I have been trying to teach her to heel, stay and stop the past couple of days, but she seems to get distracted and ignore me. A lot of times, when she sees a dog or even if a leaf falls from the tree, she will try to chase and examine the distraction. I try to get her attention by standing in front of her and calling her, or even offering treats, but she is way more interested in the distraction.

I would take her to an obedience training class but it is so far away (over an hour away).

I have been watching Dog Whisperer and reading online about dog training. I attempted to record our training sessions and thought maybe you guys could pinpoint my training mistakes and advise me with some helpful tips or suggestions.

Thanks!
