Felix had a lump also that turned out to be a reaction to rabies vaccination. We watched it for 6 weeks and it didn't get better. It also caused balding around the lump as the hair follicles had atrophied. We had the lump removed to have it biopsied to make sure what it was. He's doing fine now. It took about 10 days for the incision to heal. Next time he gets the rabies vaccination we will have to use one from a different company.

Oscar has had a lot of health issues and we are trying to figure out what is wrong. He just had the test for Addison's Disease yesterday. First they did an ultra-sound to look at the size of his adrenal glands. If the adrenal glands are undersized, then that is a sign. However 50% of patients with Addison's have normal sized adrenal glands. His were normal sized. So, then they did the ACTH test - which I'm told is the only one that will definitively tell you if the dog has Addison's. It takes a little over an hour and involves stimulating the adrenal glands to see if they function. Oscar's were functioning fine and doesn't have Addison's, so we are still looking for answers.

Good luck - the test didn't seem to bother him at all and at least you'll know if PJ has it or not and what the treatment is .

I have had the same problems off and on (3 times since January). Once it begins, my mom feeds me boiled chicken and rice only - no treats or regular kibble. I didn't like rice so my mom cooks it in chicken broth instead of water and that is much more tasty.

Also, I always see the vet during these bouts and get metronidazole.

They aren't sure why this happens - I've had all the tests and luckily have been normal. They are starting to think I may have stress colitis.

Hope you are feeling well now!
