Behavior & Training > For fun: does your dog ever try to \"give you\" his things?

Charlie Pete LOVES red ball. Adores it. HE will occassionally come up to me with red ball and wont put it in my lap or my hand but will come and bump my mouth with it...hold it right in front of my mouth, not my face but my mouth, presumably so I will take it like a dog. He doesnt do this with JessAnne (his dog sis....she doesnt play ball) but I have seen him do it with one other dog through a fence. That was a really odd one since he tends to be quite fear aggressive with other dogs.

You are doing such a great job of trying to understand what makes thsi dog tick, rather than just trying to fix the superficial. Great example for all of us I think. Great work...look forward to more updates.

I gotta agree with Laila on this. Im feeling a bit sorry for the original poster. When I first started coming to Dogster I had always had dogs and always loved dogs, but was admittedly clueless on how to handle a problem dog. I had only heard of the dominance theory, forcing submission and encouraging a top dog over all others. I know now that there is a lot more to working with dogs and that at least in my dog, dominence was exactly the wrong thing to do...even though it was all I knew then. I'm learning. LEts let the poster to that too. I dont think she is being intentionally cruel to her original dog but is genuinely trying to support a new prblem child...perhaps just not with the best information and perhaps loosing sight of priorities. We dont have to be mean to educate.

Behavior & Training > The Walk - Separate or Together?

I would LOVE to walk mine together, but it doesnt go well. The dog walker (their dog trainer) can do it, but when I try, it doesnt matter how calm I am, they feed off of each other. Charlie gets anxious...that makes Jess anxious, which makes Charlie even more anxious and so o and so on. really frustrating.

I'm thinking the software has a glitch. I also got boxer kangal mix as the wildcard. 1st=golden pyrenees; 2nd=bernese mountain dog; 3rd=labrador.

from reading other posts sounds like their option of dogs to choose from is pretty limited. Not very sophisticated software
