| | Barked: Fri Jul 31, '09 10:15am PST | | | | | | Well, went to the vet this morning and Brutus had a temperature of 103! So, no shots and no thyroid panel. Vet did his annual Heartworm/Lyme test (both came back negative) and a Total Body Function Test (SuperChem/CBC/T4) those results we should have tomorrow. He is on Amoxicillin for the fever, although the vet said it may just be he was stressed out (I hope!) He goes back again Wednesday evening. Will let you all know when we get the other tests back. Say a prayer for my little boy! | | | | |

| | Barked: Tue Jul 28, '09 6:58pm PST | | | | | | I have a post on the B&T forum dealing with the (almost) same issue. Although Brutus has not put on excess weight, his coat is not as soft, and has been shedding MUCH more than normal and scratching quite a bit. Plus, this summer all of a sudden he is afraid of thunderstorms. Brutus is a anxious dog, but used to love to sit on the deck and watch the storms roll in with us. Sooo...I started thinking low thyroid also. Talked to my vet and she suggested running a CBC first to see if anything seems off and to go from there. His test is on Friday. I'll post back here on what we find out. Good Luck and keep us posted! | | | | |

| | Barked: Mon Jul 27, '09 8:08pm PST | | | | | | Thanks gang! His skin is not flaky or red, and his fur is not dull, just doesn't feel as soft as it usually does. He's shedding alot but so is every dog in the area this summer! But he is scratching himself alot more than usual. And well, the whole thunderstorm thing...
