Hi, I would just like to add. My dog, Penny has been having epileptic seizures now for the past 9months, sometimes it's frequent and then it happens 3 times a week. But then a month or so passes and she doesn't get another one. I have her on pills I got from my vet, it's called Lethal, it's a 10mg pill designed for humans but my vet said that is what they give to dogs that has epilepsy and it has worked for my Penny, I only give her one pill each morning and I know that she is safe for the rest of the day. I have also used homeopathic drops for her but then she still has the seizure, but it's milder and goes over much more quickly and you can use it during a seizure to calm it down.

I hope that helps

Can anyone help, or give advice of what I can do for my little girl, I found out about a week ago that she is epileptic and I don't now what to do for her besides her medication? She has always been quite a nervous type and doesn't seem to settle down much, I have also heard that epilepsy can sometime be caused by a previous head injury, does anyone now whether this is true?shock

I have a rather idiotic question to ask, but here goes!red face

I know that doxies are prone to being overweight, that is why I take special care as to which and how many food that my girls eat and so far has managed to keep their weight normal, but I recently found out that my one girl is epileptic and have been wondering if I shouldn't spay her because I have heard that it calms them down but I am scared that I will struggle with her weight?
