I agree with Skye's human. After 8 years with an insane Border Collie I decided to add an Australian Shepherd. I thoroughly enjoy being needed as much as I am. I think the best advise I can give to all potential pet parents is to research the breed in which you are interested. Honestly assess what the typical dog from that breed will demand and whether you are able to provide it. I am involved with Aussie rescue and see too many situations where a person acted on impulse. And there are far too many of these wonderful dogs needing to be rehomed.

I was a rescue too! And have seperation anxiety. My Mom got a crate but doesn't lock me in it. Its just there if I need it to make me feel better so I think I must have had one in the past. Also before she goes she simply says I love you and I'll be back soon the same way everytime. This way it is no big thing
