mordecai, I never said i was having rocko trained to be a service dog he is going to get his cgc and tdi certifications and be considered a 'therapy dog' which is not a service dog and does not need to be taught to perform a task i am unable to do myself, such as 'get my pills'. All i was trying to say is that someone does not need to be physically disabled to have a therapy dog. As a therapy dog rocko will serve as a distraction from thoughts and situations that would nor

nevermind i just wanted to say that people shouldnt worry about being qualified for a dogs help, talk to your family, employers, and doctors/therapists and see what their opinions and thoughts are (in the case of your employers what type of certification is needed to cover their butts).

I have 'Bi-Polar I' and I don't do very well with stress, people, or places i dont feel comfortable being in for extended periods of time (or any combination of the three). Problems arise when i cant cope with something and I either get really angry, depressed, or terrified that something is going to get worse than it is at the moment, its wierd but my technique at the moment is to have headphones in whenever i am at work. It just seems rude though
My wife came up with the idea to get Rocko certifiedas a to basically come with me to work. The plan is to have him as with me so i can go to him and calm down because he is always familiar to me and always makes me happy.
I asked about what Rocko would need cert. wise and was told that basically he just needs one saying that there is a purpose for him being with me at work.
I was worried about him needing more training or me needing to be physically disabled but it all worked out
