With cairn terriers, it's not an option for our pups to be in unsecurely fenced in areas without being leashed either. However, Cassie slipped her harness when we were fostering her, and she was on the run for 30 hours before being trapped in a safe trap and Hunter pulled his leash out of my husband's hand a few months ago, but thankfully he came back to our porch within an hour or so. We double leash our pups with double lead leashes, once to harness, once to collar and now we also bought safety loops that attach to the handle of the leash and wrap around our wrists. |  |  | |  |

| | Barked: Sat Oct 31, '09 12:33pm PST | | | | | | My husband and I both work and we foster for Col Potter Cairn Rescue Network...the way CP looks at it, a foster is still 1000 times better off even if they are crated while the foster mom/dad is working than being in a puppy mill....at the foster home they get good food, clean water, a soft place to sleep, warmth/cooling as needed, and love and attention when the foster parents are home. | | | | |

| | Barked: Tue Oct 27, '09 1:58pm PST | | | | | | So glad it was "just" gas on the tummy....I scared mom a few months ago when she came home from work....I was very lethargic and I didn't want to eat (and I LIVE to eat, not eat to LIVE). She called my dogter and took me in right away...AND I had gas on my tummy, too...dogter gave me a shot and some pills to take and by the next day I was myself again. We sure know how to scare our humans!! | | | | |

CP has covered all initial vetting, including shots, treatment for high liver enzymes for Hunter, spaying or neutering, and heartworm treatment for Hunter. They also supply us with Heartgard and Frontline. | | | | |
