I just don't understand why they can't allow Bruce to go to the rescue in Southern Ireland. And meanwhile, they are taking horrible 'care' of Bruce. He has lost weight, had his tail amputated due to an infection, and has a large sore on his nose, probably from biting at the cage he is in. It just breaks my heart!! Everyone should speak up against Breed Specific Legislation whenever you get the chance--because next, it might be YOUR breed that is targeted!!

HOWEVER, I also think that the general public is entitled to a reasonable expectation of safety when said service dogs are performing their duties. Yes, permission should be asked before a working dog is petted or approached, but since many people simply do not know this, the dog should be able to handle interaction with people that are unfamiliar to them. Abuse of the system by just declaring that your dog is a 'service animal' will ultimately do a disservice to both service dogs and the person who truly needs one, especially if the dog proves to be aggressive. | | | | |

But Ruben knows that there are other dogs that haven't been as lucky as he was, and because dogs are such generous, loving souls, he wants you to bring that dog home--when the time is right. And when it is, you will know. You will always miss Ruben, and that is as it should be. But it won't hurt this badly forever.
Just grieve, as you need to now, and wait. The time will come. | | | | |
