Have you called your vet to make sure that this is "normal" for a certain period of time?

My puppy had hers expressed a couple of weeks ago and she just sat down a lot and it seemed to irritate her, but she was back to normal after a day or so.

When I'm home, I move her crate downstairs into the living room so she can go in and out as she pleases and then take it upstairs when it is bedtime.

When it is downstairs, she can be a part of the action or just go there for some peace and quiet - she definitely loves her crate.

thanks for the advice. I do have sweaters for her and put it on in the morning when it is chilly , but she's still a little cold. She also follows the "leg's go" command in the evening (plus "wait" at an intersection, "sit" and "ok" as a release command in the morning and night).

She has no problems walking with my sister's dogs (her cousins) in the evening - in fact she's way too eager to walk and play at the same time).

This morning, I carried her down a block, put her down and told her "let's go" and she walked back with me, so I need to just get some treats out to get her used to walking in the cold. She can be so stubborn, but it's something I will need to work towards.

Hi,

I've had my now almost 6 month maltese for 3 months and she has started to resist going on walks (I think it is due to the colder weather).

Before, I was able to coax her into walking but now, she just locks her front legs and refuses to walk (even when I have a treat in my hand, she'll come to me for the treat when I tell her to come and then when I say "let's go" and she doesn't move. She normally responds to "let's go").

Any tips on getting her to walk again? I might not be patient enough because I have to get ready for work in the morning and need her to walk on command.

I generally take her out in the morning for 10 minutes and then at night for 30 minutes. She's fine on the night walks because she walks with her cousins and likes their company.

Thanks - I will tell her "No" and walk away . .then she'll understand that the behavior is not acceptible (over time!).

The bows are cute, but they usually only stay in for 2 days or so after her grooming appointment!

Hi,

I have a 5 month old female maltese puppy who is extremely energetic and playful. Lately, when playing tug or war or fetch with her, if I don't throw the stuffed animal or pick up the other toy, she will bite me lighltly with her mouth (her entire mouth over my hand).

I tell her "No" immediately, but she still does this from time to time. Any suggestions on what I can do to let her know she can't bite me to get attention? Maybe say "No" and then just ignore her and walk away?

I just want to her to learn that this is not acceptible behavior. Otherwise, she listens pretty well for a puppy, but of course we're both still working on it.

Hi Mochi - cute name. I just joined recently too - I am almost 4 months old and currently my cousins live with me. I love jumping ALL over them, even when they growl at me. I even hang onto one's face and he doesn't seem to mind too much.

You're super cute too!
