With my 4 big pups (who each have their own food bowl) I use the stainless steel kind just from the pet store. Ceramic ones always seemed to chip or break, and the plastic ones get chewed too easily. puppy

Grooming > How many large breeds go to groomers?

I have 4 large dogs and I do all of their grooming myself. But I know a few people with Golden Retreivers who get their dogs professionally groomed reguarly. Also a friend with German Shepherds. My dogs have short fur-but if I had dogs with longer thicker fur I would want to get them groomed.
Good luck with the job!big grin

Grooming > Cleaning the collars?

I toss the collars in a lingerie bag (the mesh kind you use to wash delicates) and they go right through the washing machine every few weeks. I just hang them up to dry. I also toss their harnesses and leashes in every month or so.

My dogs have always been big chewers too. I buy large Nyla bones from the pet store. They especially like the chicken flavored ones, but they come in other flavors or plain as well.
I also buy soup or marrow bones from the grocery store. I boil them on the stove for 45 minutes-1 hour depending on the size of the bone. I let them cool completely by putting them in the freezer for about 15 minutes then they are ready to eat. My dogs will eat the marrow and then spend hours chewing on the bones.

We have plastic bins in the hall closet filled with leashes, extra collars, shampoo, nail clippers, etc. The toys are in baskets in the living room and their treats and food are in a large cupboard in the kitchen. With 4 big dogs-organization is key! puppy

We use a pretty tablecloth that completely covers the dog crate. Make sure you get the ones that are machine washable-and pick out a color/style to fit your room's decor. You can even pick out seasonal ones for Christmas, Easter, etc.big grin
