That's a shame. If a rescue is not doing what is best for the dog, then you might have to start filing complaints until something is done. You can file a complaint with the BBB. Perhaps contact other Husky rescues and ask them for advice.

Wow, it looks like you really like those shoes. They tried to put shoes on me, you should have seen me. I walked so funny and in no time at all I figured out how to get them off, so my dad soon stopped trying to keep them on me.

My sister Buttons was very finicky. She'd only eat the most expensive canned food, until they got me. When my dad would put down regular dry food, Buttons would turn her nose up at it, but not me. I'd rush over there and eat it all. It didn't take long before Buttons figured out that if she didn't eat it, she wasn't getting anything else. She was finicky no more.

My dad knows it was a mistake to let me eat all her food and should have put her food away for later, but I was a growing pup and the extra food didn't hurt me and Buttons learned quickly.

We saw Shelby's story in the local newspapers website. We sent them money and posted their story on several Sheltie websites. Several people there also said they would send money. Soon after that, it was learned that the rest of the money was being paid by the clinc. Read here http://www.yorkblog.com/pets/2008/04/help_injured_sheltie_get_back.h tml So Shelby is home now. Good luck to them all.

What is it you're not sure of? Have you checked out the characteristics of Shelties? I wouldn't want you to get one and then have it end up in rescue like me (although I'm lucky that my forever home and my new mom & dad are so nice). One thing you have with Shelties is a piercing bark. It takes some getting use to. You have to train them to not bark at every little thing. But, Shelties being so smart, they are easily trained. Have you thought about maybe checking out the Sheltie rescues in your area? There are many wonderful dogs looking for a good home. Good luck.

I think other dogs do it, but not as cute as a Sheltie big grin

My Dad felt the same way when I crossed the bridge. He still has his bad days. If you need support, try this website http://www.petloss.com/ They are very supportive there.

Baa, ignore those people. If they never had a bond like I had with my Daddy, then it's their loss. 10 months and my Dad still has a hard time with my crossing the bridge. He does his best to hide his hurt from others in part to avoid those types of comments. http://www.petloss.com/ is where he went to find support in the days after I crossed over. This is the book he bought http://www.coldnosesbook.com/ He hasn't read it yet, but Mom liked it a lot.

My Daddy is also making a real nice resting place for me. He also has a St Francis statue and once the grass grows he will place the headstone and flowers.
