okay so Bella gives Sugar warning growls. Sugar's reaction to this is to attack. What do I do? I personally like Bella's warning growls. Must dogs take heed to this and back off. Well since I just found Sugar and she obviously has a lack of socialization we have had multiple fights. All start with Bella giving a warning growl. She does this to Gem too. He will either back off or if he does push it further she will bark in his face. But they have never gotten into a fight. . . . . .

My mom bathes me outside with the hose and has an attachment that mists. So she mists the hose at me until my face is wet. She figures it can't be that much different then rain.

My mom found me and I am having problems getting along with my new "foster" sister Bella. "Foster" Mom still would never consider taking me to the pound again even though she is desperate to find me a home.

That breaks my heart. I called the ASPCA for Sugar thinking that she would get the help she needed. They immediately put her on death row. I went back to save her. And this is just a random dog that I found. . . . . . I couldn't imagine taking a strange dog there much less my own pups.

So my inlaws came with their two Golden Retrievers and Sugar loves them!! It was a crazy weekend so Sugar still has not got a bath but it is supposed to be a beautiful warm weekend in So Cal so she will get bathed. So it looks like next week we can start her Furever home search. By the way I have had lost signs up now for over a week with only one call and it was not Sugar's owners. Just thought I would let you guys know we are heading in the right direction fast!dancing

We are doing good for the most part. We are having some issues with Sugar and the cats. Nothing horrible but she whines and cries and barks at them. Last night it took two hours before she settled down and we could all go to sleep.

She is SO much better with our dogs . She is starting to get the whole pecking order and is tolerant of me and my husband loving on Bella and Gem. She is just a puppy though so she wants to get in there and get some love too but it is no longer an aggressive tense situation. Bella even was crouching down trying to get her to play the other day. If you didn't see it I posted in the behaviour forum because there were some knock out fights for the first week. But that seems to be past us now. They all get leashed and get walked every morning together. smile

I had my first guest over last night and it didn't go as good as I had hoped. She barked and was scared of her for 5-10 miuntes before she started to feel comfortable. Which is pretty good. But then we left and came back an hour later and it started all over again.

But having said that she is coming leaps and bounds and really for never being socialized she is doing great. I am so happy all of the dogs get along. She eats better and listens better now that they are all together.

We went to my vet (new). She is heart worm negative. Stitches are looking good. The vet felt her legs and said she didn't feel anything wrong. She wanted to see her walk but Sugar refused to walk like a normal dog and was doing the army crawl.

Her limps are weird. I am begining to suspect that she is a result of bad breeding. They come and go in the blink of the eye. It moves from front to back for no reason. She is never in pain and will let us touch and feel her legs up and down. Even when she is limping it doesn't slow her down. One minute she is limping and the next minute she is doing war paths in the backyard and when she stops is walking normal again.

Everyday she seems more like a puppy to me. The pound said one to two years old but I told my vet that we thought closer to a year and she agreed. I am begining to wonder if she is even a year. Everyday seems to bring more energy. And she isn't coordinated. My husband asked her to sit the other day and she sat straight into the water bowl! She is still very mouthy. She has a soft mouth but she loves to try to chew your hands and arms like a young pup does.

I am hoping that it gets a little nicer this weekend so we can FINALLY give her a bath. I thought I would start the search for a furever home after that but I am thinking that we still have some major sociallizing to do before most people will think of her as a pet.

Thanks for all your help guys and thanks for checking in. One of these days I will get my computer fixed at home so I can be more active on Dogster again.
