Behavior & Training > Odd behavior...Do anyone else\'s dogs do this?
Toby

If it fits in my- mouth, it's- mine.

Tonight, I was in my room watching TV. Toby was lying down on my bed. He jumped off, and started sniffing around on the floor, a few feet from my bed, which I was sitting on. I didn't think anything of it, until he started wiping his face on the carpet. That was nothing new to me. I have seen him do that plenty of times before, like right after he gets a drink of water or right after he eats, but I thought it was strange that he was doing it now. He hadn't eaten recently, or drank any water. Then, he started to roll around on that same spot. As I continued to get more and more puzzled by this, Toby got up. And then I saw what he had been rolling around on. It was a ladybug! Toby was rolling around on top of a bug! I was confused as to why he was doing it, but I also thought it was pretty funny. I've heard of dogs rolling around in things. But bugs? And a tiny little one at that.

Are there any other dogs out there who do this? I doubt that Toby's the only one.

Dog Laws & Legislation > Do you think pitbull dogs should be taken to dog parks?

In my opinion, if the Pit Bull in question doesn't have any aggression issues whatsoever, then it's okay. If the dog is aggressive towards people, other dogs, or is aggressive over toys, then it's not a good idea to bring that dog to a dog park. You don't want to put other people and dogs in danger. It's too big of a risk to take.

This is a cool thread!

Sporting Group - Golden Retriever
There is, in my opinion, no breed on the planet that has a sweeter and friendlier temperament than a Golden. When I had Buster, those 12 years I spent with him were some of the best in my life.

Hound Group - Borzoi
The first word that comes to mind when I think of this breed is "gorgeous". They are so beautiful. I love that they don't bark much, and any breed that doesn't bark much is a winner in my book.

Working Group - Greater Swiss Mountain Dog
They're beautiful, protective but not aggressive, friendly with people they know well, and great with kids. I don't like the fact that they're slow to housetrain, but other than that, I'd love to own one of these.

Terrier Group - Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier
I've never been a big fan of terriers, and there are only 2 breeds in this group that I actually "like": the Wheaten and the Norfolk Terrier. However, I've always had a soft spot for Wheatens. They're beautiful and friendly with everyone. But I wouldn't want to deal with the high energy level and the grooming.

Toy Group - Pomeranian
I've liked Poms for a long time. They're adorable and sweet, and will follow you around everywhere. They're very loyal, and will let you know when someone's at the door. They're great little companions.

Non-Sporting Group - Keeshond
I have been in love with this breed as far back as I can remember. I have always liked them, with their loving and affectionate temperament, and friendliness with everyone. They are awesome dogs, although they are barky. I still love them, though.

Herding Group - Australian Shepherd
This is my favorite breed of all the AKC-recognized breeds. I love everything about them, except for their high energy. That really bites, because I want one real bad, and I'm a low-energy person. I'll never stop admiring this gorgeous breed. I like the red tricolored Australian Shepherds the best.

This is just for fun. If you were to take one of those quizzes to decide what breed is right for you, except pick all the qualities that you would want the least, what would you come up with? Since everyone seems to like the Animal Planet quiz the best, I took that one. But you can take other quizzes if you want. This thread had some other quizzes. http://www.dogster.com/forums/Choosing_the_Right_Dog/thread/568202 Here's the Animal Planet quiz. http://animal.discovery.com/breedselector/dogselector.do

My worst match is the Schipperke. What's yours?

Try soaking his food in just enough water to cover the food. Let the food soak up the water, then let Diesel eat. Since the food will be mushy, he won't be able to choke on it or burp it back up.
