 lil' one

| Barked: Mon May 25, '09 10:26am PST | | | | | | Our 14 1/2 yr. old Lady, a Labbylicious sweetheart, had the same thing, The vet explained it was a vestibular, inner ear thing with no explanation, and that Lady wouldn't eat until she felt less nausious...It took a whle, but Lady is pretty much all back, except the head tilts just a little. It scared us very much, but this is something that looks way worse than it is. Take care. | | | | |

 Sweetness

| Barked: Sat Apr 21, '07 5:23am PST | | | | | | I feel in love and adopted a blind cocker who had both eyes removed. Sierra is the sweetest, spunkiest, most happy doggie I ever met. I cried when she attacked my darling senior Lady, and had to return her to the shelter. Sierrra needed to be the only dog, but she found another loving family, where she is the Princess. The dog will compensate for eyesight loss by using it's nose. They will explore the perimeters of a room, and soon learn to get around with no problems. We humans can learn a lot from our doggies. Use scents to establish her eating place, and other areas. I also wore lil' bells so Sierra would always know where I was. With love, your doggie will be just fine. Good luck, and I believe you will be thrilled to see how quickly your dog adapts. | | | | |

 Sweetness

They are fossilized bits that are razor sharp, and cut the insect so it dries up. Put a border of it around your house. This can be used in or outside the house. BE careful not to breath it as you use it. Some people use this stuff directly on their animal for fleas and ticks. Borix acid is another non chemical approach, but slower. Mix the boric with jelly or greasy dog food (yep!) to attract the critters. They ingest the boric acid, and eventually go bye bye.
We used to have carpenter ants -YUCK!, but no longer have the problem. Boric acid can be found in pharmacies.
Good Luck! | | | | |
