THATS a long story - but...I have been feeding chicken, raw. Since I have started (cooked food w. O-3 supplements for the last month, raw, including chicken for a week)
I do feel I am seeing improvement.
Samoa faster than Savannah, but she is coming around too.

Samoa (lab x aussie or border collie) now has a glistening black wavy coat and his dandruff (that he has had since puphood) is almost totally cleared up.
Savannah had a rather severe skin issue that might be an allergy or reaction to something - she was losing considerable hair. Now she is getting her coat back and really starting to look good again.

Today she remembered one she hadn't been off to yet - it is on the other side of town and over a drawbridge, so sort of out of the way. But she went over and bought a whole bunch or red meat for a very good price.
Pork, for some reason, was higher than other places in town. But beef ribs and beef stew meat and some beef cutlets were quite reasonable.
The Bassetts reminded us that we can't rely too much on Chicken - which is always cheap in these parts (chicken houses are a big feature of the landscape down here) and now we know where to go for our beefy bits! And another local store proves to be the place to go for organ meat!
Dog - we are into this! | | | | |

When fed, they all seperate with their meal and keep a distance.
I don't have any trouble with aggression here, but they do seem protective.
I just leave them enough space and they eat up and no more growling.

Current pups are 3, 2, and 1 year old - so time will tell if those good teeth will last.
We are now feeding raw, and the teeth look great.

Have lots of work to do to get on target, but will seek advice here.
Am also seeking sources, and have posted a Craigslist and joined a group on Yahoo to try to seek more variety affordably.
Thanks for the reminder and all future help!

I think day care would work wonderfully and if you tell the staff she is shy, they will know just how to handle her to build confidence.

| Barked: Tue Dec 8, '09 8:43am PST | | | | | | I don't think Kibbly cleans teeth at all, because my pups (except little Dubs) tend to swallow it whole.
I do think that Milkbones help - don't know how much disagreement there might be on this. And I don't have any photos or other "proof" but have given these as treats for the last 5 dogs I have had, and all have always had excellent teeth.
Even the health plagued little cocker spaniel.
