It looks okay but I'm confused- is it dehydrated? Or is it kibble? Is it frozen?

ETA: I looked some more and see it's some sort of premade raw or dehydrated or something. It looks okay but it's pretty heavy in vegetables and/or grains. I don't see any bone in it either or whole eggs or anything so they have to add a bunch of vitamins/minerals in. I personally like the idea of a veggie/grain-free raw diet. But, it looks good ingredient-wise none the less if you think it would be good to try.

wave Stinky, there are 2 main reasons why dogs tend to throw up. The first tends to be because the dog will drink a lot of water right after eating kibble, then throw up within the next few minutes. Simply adding a bit of water into the kibble and withholding the water bowl for say, half an hour after eating might help if that were to be an issue.
Also, if Stinky is throwing up early in the mornings, and it's just bile, it's because he has an empty stomach and is getting rid of excess bile. Now this can be remedied simply by giving a snack before bedtime, or a small amount of food. Just so he has something in his belly overnight. You could also try giving smaller amounts of food throughout the day as opposed to 1 or 2 larger meals.

It's hard because since Stinky does have issues with most common grains, you would need to probably go grain-free. Which is too bad if you said he seems to be having issues with the high protein because as protein goes down, carb content will go up and you have a very carb-heavy food. Like the Natural Balance for instance.

The Evo red meat is a good suggestion, as well as Orijen regional red. The RR does contain fish, but it's no where near enough to be considered a fish-based kibble. There's also Acana Grassands which is grain-free with moderate protein levels and uses lamb and fish? Or what about Instinct rabbit? It does have salmon, but it's the second ingredient. Would that bother stinky?
Happy hunting! way to go

Food & Nutrition > canned or kibble?

I agree that a good quality canned food is better in the sense that it's less processed and contains less carbohydrates. It also has good moisture levels as opposed to kibble. As stated before, canned is very expensive to feed a large dog, so mixing kibble and canned together can be a really good idea and most dogs seem to like it.

"he thinks he's so tough"

Therein lies the problem: people personifying their dog's behavior to somehow rationalize it instead of dealing with it.

I keep telling myself I'll confront the owner every time that happens but I don't have much in the way of guts sometimes. Plus some owners are so pig-headed they wouldn't DARE admit that their precious dog could POSSIBLY be causing an issue. If Farley was charging others dogs and being aggressive, I would remove him from the situation immediately. I know it's a bit much to expect other owners to do the same, unfortunately.

No kidding. It makes no sense that I should have to leash my friendly dog while her aggressive dog just gets to run free and terrorize other dogs with no consequence. naughty

Hey all wave

So on Sunday I was at the dog park with Farley. He is always so good at the dog park and playing with other dogs off leash. He's always pretty well-mannered and friendly.
Anyway, this lady brought a GSD that looked to be about 8 months old or so. Now, I know some dogs are more overzealous than others, and some can be quite vocal without meaning any harm. Her dog, however, was chasing down my dog repeatedly and snarling and being incredibly overbearing and aggressive. Farley NEVER growls/bares his teeth at other dogs, but he was baring his teeth at this dog and it still wouldn't leave him alone and he was clearly trying to get away from it. He was running back to me and trying to hide behind me and running into the bushes to get away from the GSD. Anyway, I was looking around for the owner and she was way off, not even paying attention to her dog. Then, when she finally saw her dog was obviously causing a problem, she did nothing but stand there like a goon, yelling her dog's name over and over. She wouldn't come remove her dog from the situation. Her GSD wouldn't even give her the time of day let alone come back to her when she called. She did nothing and her dog continued. I didn't want to start a confrontation, so I just leashed my dog and walked in the opposite direction. It was stupid because due to this lady bringing her aggressive dog and not taking responsibility for it, I couldn't have farley off leash and I had to avoid them. I hate when one irresponsible person ruins it for everyone else.

Ugh, what an awful thing to happen. I could barely look at those awful pictures. I am so glad they were caught.

PS- upon googling the shelter:
