Well, I got a big shnuggly new bed and a new camo coat from Santa, and from my Mum and other family memebers I got 14 toys, most of which were stuffies and some scrummy treats. I also got 3 stuffy toys from my Secret Santa Paws Dawson! big grin

red facered faceI just saw this thread is meant to be for Pups only, and I'm an old guy! There was a link on the homepage saying to tell here what you got from Santa Paws, and I didn't realise it was a Puppy thread....sowwyred facered face

Behavior & Training > Would your dog protect you?

Scamp is the friendliest of dogs, he doesn't have across word to say to anyone...kids can sit on him, kneel on his paw, pull his ears etc, but if anyone makes a movement towards another person (not just me, anyone in the house) that seems aggressive, he will bark and snap at them. He doesn't actually bite, but his body language suggests he would. He is 12 now and has never bitten anyone, but he does hate violent actions, even when we are just messing around in the house having a laugh. I think if I needed protected he would definately protect me.

This happened to our Cairn Terrier when I was very young, my Mum took her straight to the vet and the bone was stuck...she had to be operated on. Hope all is well with your baby. dog

I don't groom Scamp at all....he hates it and gets very upset when I groom him, he especially won't let me do his nether regions, so he went to a groomer a few years ago and came out very happy and bouncy....she told me he was good as gold, just stood there and let her get on, just licked her face a few times. Now he goes every 2 or 3 months, gets bathed, groomed, trimmed etc. It works out great and he is happy to go skipping in the door!

Dog Health > I have bad kidneys

I had kidney failure also....I lived for 17 months after my diagnosis. Although the vet was great, some of my extended life was thanks to hours of surfiing the net looking for help and advice. I was given monthly vitamin B and anabolic steroid jags (they made me feel great and boosted my appetite) I was also given 'fortekor' tablets for blood pressure (as the toxins in your blood cause the pressure to increase) and I was given 'Cimetedine' tablets to keep my tummy feeling good. When I was diagnosed, the vet said it was so bad I would probably only live a month or so, but I was given intravenous fluids for 36 hours which didn't work alone, but I had it again and started the medication and I was just great for around 16 months before I went downhill after a bad case of constipation. I never made it back to full health after that and a month later I had had enough. It was the end of the road for me. I would definately recommend the Vit B and anabolic steroid medication, they worked a miracle for me, and the 'Cimetidine' is an antacid type drug that humans get too, and I wasn't sick once I started on those. I hope some of this helps you!!

Excuse my Scottish ignorance, but what are Greenies? We don't have them here, or if we do, they must be called something different....my Mum is worried that it is something that she might be giving us?!?!

Woofs and Wags.
