	Poor Piloux was born without a tail. I got a few unkind comments by people who thought I had cropped her tail. I wasn't sure if the breeder had cropped her tail, or if she was born that way, but I finally asked the vet and he even had a name for her condition, which I forget. The one thing I miss is her being able to wag her tail, but when Piloux gets really excited, her whole back section wags.

	Poor Tux. Parents and children like those you encountered give the rest of us a bad name. Parents should teach their children to use caution with all dogs for their own good as well as the good of the dog. My kids love animals and when they were little, I taught them that when they wanted to pet a dog, they had to 1) ask permission from the owner first and then 2) if it was okay, they were to hold their hand out lower than the dog's face and a little bit away. They were to wait until the dog came to them. They were ALWAYS to say thank you to the owner. It really doesn't take much to teach children the proper way to treat animals.
