This is a topic that I need to post about too. I have a similar situation. Here's my dilema - Almost a month ago I went to the vet for treatment of a hot spot on my tail. She felt it best to give me a low dose cortisone shot to help with the licking and thus heal better. The day after that I started having acccidents too. frown I'm now crated at night and flood the crate by morning. Mom keeps me in a doggie diaper when she has to leave me for a bit and I even soak the diaper. I have all normal blood work, x-rays and negative urinalysis. I had a slight UTI prior to all this but last week my culture was negative. Mom is at wit's end. I'm a girl that can hold my bladder for hours too. Any suggestions shrug

What a beautiful little girl you have with Sofie. I too was very shy when I arrived into rescue at age 2. I've come a long way with mom's patience and perseverance. Make sure you socialize Sofie as much as possible. way to go That has helped me a lot. Our vet says not to discourage me when I bark, since that's me expressing myself and coming out of my shell. Good luck !dog We surely hope that you don't have puppies, since that will be an extra burden for you to carry..... frown

Hi again Scooter wave , I currently eat the reduced fat Wellness Core too. Mom did lots of reading and found that grain free is a much better diet for my breed. I was always a picky eater but love Core. I forgot to mention earlier to Sedona that I get some yogurt every day, so that should take care of my diet with "probiotics". I get about a tablespoon a day and also some fish oil supplement to help with my hip dysplasia. Mom says she thinks the fish oil is like a miracle drug for me dancing , I could hardly take a step up and now I do a daily walk (weather permitting of course with all the snow we have frown ) and can play and chase my brother again happy dance
Don' t stop asking questions Scooter. That's the only way we can all learn big grin

Ooops, forgot to ask Sedona - do you think the Wysong Biotic - pH would be better than the Berry Balance shrug Just curious what your thoughts are. I'll plan on asking my vet about this as well. wink

Thanks to all of you for your input. applauseScooter - the pH I referred to is not phosphorus, but the alkalinity in my urine. It has gone from being normal (around 6 or 7) to becoming more alkaline. Less than 6-7 is too acidic. Since a small dose of Clavamox for a few days every 2-3 months has helped to keep away the UTI's, we don't want to have too much alkalinity to cause stones. We're going to call our vet ASAP and ask about the Berry Balance. She doesn't feel that the antibiotic would make me become resistant. Since some of you mentioned "probiotics", can you tell me if this is another supplement that would help shrug
