Most will advise "crate training"!!!!!!!!
My Dad didn't crate train me. He's never had a crate. He installed a "shuttle bay door" (doggy door) for me and I managed to figured out the rest on my own!!!!!!!
I am completely house trained. I don't go inside at all now and if the "shuttle bay door" is not open.... I even whine to get out.
Dad says he was VERY lucky that I learned that!!!!!!!!!!

It is a four door short range cargo carrier shuttle craft.
My Dad is confused on the ownership of said craft. Recently.... I ran into the shuttle bay when the door was open and jumped into the rear seat!!!!!!!!! I refused to get back out!!!!!!!!!! 
The USS Silverado is MINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Dad just thinks it's a pick-up truck.... don't tell him otherwise. ) | | | | |

I KNOW it will be a SAD day for my Daddy.
I know my Daddy loves me very very much... but he also still misses his Jean-luc, Sr. very very much.
My Dad ask me to leave the following message for his dearly departed Jean-luc:
For 17 years you were my loyal companion, friend, best buddy.... you were the sweetest dog anyone would ever want.
Rest comfortably my dearest friend.... I shall ALWAYS remember you and shall always LOVE you!!!!!!!!!
