Had a massage today. And low and behold...my left side from my ear down to my hip was tighter than tight. Hmmm could it have been from the electric nerve pain? It's a mystery laugh out loudbig laugh Feeling better though...just wiped out from being in pain for so long yesterday. I currently have heat on my upper back.

High today of 71 degrees...windy.

We are on week four with Beethoven and I haven't heard from my student. Getting a little concerned as we were only suppose to have this little guy 3 weeks.

Hubby let him out of his crate this morning, took him potty them let him up in bed with us. He settled right in.

I'm having pain behind my left ear again. It's that "cattle prod to raw nerve" type of pain...which I get from time to time. It happens in my rib cage too. I put a pain patch on behind my ear and took a nap. But It's starting back up again. Grr. I've got class tonight. I can't teach while my body convulses like I'm getting electro-shock therapy. F-bomb!

Try it on and see. Ok that sounds like I'm being a wise a$$...but seriously, I would try one on myself if I was thinking of using one.

That sounds good too Toto and Flicka.

I transplanted a few plants this morning...Finished organizing most of hubby's office since he has been working the dog show 3 days in a row from 6:30am til 6pm and he has one more day to go. Me and a few friends will be going tomorrow. This way Hubby only has to get his paperwork that on his desk organized (trust me, there's a lot of paperwork). eek

I'm trying to decide what color to paint my office. We have leftover paint from the kitchen remodel but I'm not sure it's really the color I want in there. It would be the practical choice...but I'm usually practical in most things...so a big part of me wants to explore a few other colors.

Choosing the Right Dog > Bring my dog to meet breeder?

Sonja

It's all about- me.

Barked: Sat Jun 15, '13 8:33am PST
Yes, Ask first. I asked with Sonja's breeder if I could bring my current dog (at that time was Pepper) as it was as much her decision as mine. She said yes. When I got to her place I went in without Pepper first. The breeder put the mommy dog outside in the fenced back yard....Then brought out the 3 pups (two cream, one blue) and I played with them for a bit then went to get Pepper.

When I brought Pepper into the room with the pups (she was on lead)...the two cream pups looked at her from across the room and ran out of the room (Pepper was a 95 lb rottie/GSD mix). The blue pup gingerly walked over the Pepper...they both started sniffing each other in glee...Pepper laid down so the pup could get to know her better...both of their tails wagging happily. I looked at the breeder and said, "well, looks like I'll take this little girl." It was my Sonja.

Sonja and Pepper loved each other (both female) which I was not expecting.

I told Jasper's breeder about each dog in our house (temperament/ personality / energy) and said my primary need is to have harmony in my house. I wanted to do Therapy work with my new dog as well as Agility...but Harmony in the house is a must. I let her choose for us. When we got to her place...she had two boys for us to choose from...a silver and a blue. The silver was her primary choice as the blue had a little more edge to him (for agility). We chose the silver, my Jasper man, and have been super pleased with that choice.

I think every situation is unique but don't be afraid of asking for what you want in your next family member.

LOL Flicka - This was the first time I've been to a movie in decades!!! Remembered why I don't go. I only went for my boys who begged me to go with them. I'd say that's above and beyond the call of duty. laugh out loudbig laugh

I slept like the dead last night and feel a little woozy this morning.

We've been having (IMO) perfect weather. Low 70's during the day 40's/50's at night. A little chilly in the mornings but I like crisp morning weather.

Rosemary/orange chicken - I've fix it two different ways. Yesterdays was my fast easy method (In terms of cooking time). First, I brine the chicken over night in orange juice with a little Kosher salt. The next day when you are ready to cook...you just pull it from the brine straight into the pan. I cook it on a med heat...cut it into bite sized pieces. Cook until the juice caramelizes just a bit. Serve over rice.

The second way I fix Rosemary/orange chicken is a bit "fancier."
You will need:
5 Tbls olive oil
6 Tbls rosemary leaves
1 Tbls Kosher salt
2 tsp red pepper flakes
3/4 tsp ground black pepper
4 pounds of chicken thighs or drumsticks (6 thighs and 6 drumsticks)
1 medium orange cut into 6 pieces
1 Tbls unsalted butter

Heat oven to 450 degrees. In a large bowl, mix together 1/4 cup of olive oil, rosemary, salt, red pepper flakes, and freshly ground black pepper. Add chicken pieces and turn to coat well. Heat remaining olive oil and unsalted butter in a cast iron frying pan over medium heat...until butter foams.

Working in batches, add 3 to 4 pieces of chicken (don't overcrowd the pan) and brown on both sides until crisp and golden. As chicken is finished, place in a baking dish, squeeze oranges over chicken (I sometimes use a little orange juice too). Once all chicken had browned, place in oven to roast until juices run clear or registers 160 to 165 degrees with a meat thermometer, about 20 to 25 minutes. Let rest 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!!

Awesome Toto hughughughughug

Ok Sarah...which pup you thinking of keeping?

The Superman movie was very good....until the last 40 or so minutes. I hate long drawn out fight scenes. As a martial artist...I'm just rolling my eyes...seriously

Anyway, Feel better after my nap and dinner with hubby and friends. I'm watching "Up" right now...squirrel! I don't know you, but I love you! laugh out loudbig laugh

I actually got a lot done today. Did some laundry, cleaned off the patio table and grill, sprayed down the front porch, did poo patrol, and made rosemary/orange chicken and brown rice with a spinach salad for lunch.
