Choosing the Right Dog > Pugs and Cats

Jessie~ I'm- sorry my- love yeah, it looks- easy to love her- <3     Barked: Mon Mar 21, '11 1:23pm PST  I've been looking at adoptable Pugs lately(thinking maybe a smaller dog will work better for my family) and I was wondering how they are with cats. My older cat(5)has been around dogs before including a crazy Lab and was fine. My younger cat(1)has never been around a dog before but he's pretty care-free and lazy. The Pugs I'm looking at are 5 years and 7-8 months old. For the most part, they'd be home alone from 7:30-2:30 but sometimes my brother comes home during the day. I have a fairly big backyard but its not fenced and the dog would be giving daily walks. I don't mind grooming and I love teaching obedience to dogs. I think a Pug would work out really good for us but I'm just not sure how good they'd be with cats.
