I hate when people have their little dogs on them at the outdoor mall and insist on letting them walk right up to my dogs. Kashmir is not friendly on leash and will snap at dogs when they get in her face. I politely tell people and they most ignore me ugh and then get mad when she snaps at their dog!! I hate flexi leads I admit i do have one but never use it. It hangs in the garage, ill bring it to the beach but thats about it. I'd rather use a long line than a flexi any day!

Oh do i envy you Honda Element owners. I want one soo bad!! Currently i have a Pontiac G6 and its really not that dog friendly. The back door panels are plastic and have scratches on them. Drool piles up on the windows too! Once i pay that sucker off a SUV is what I am getting!! cheer

Behavior & Training > DAP collars and plug ins?

Well I was cruising the pet store buying some training treats for my monday class and came across a DAP section. DAP (Dog appeasing pheromone) collars, sprays and plug ins. I just wondered if they truly actually work?? I work in a training kennel and we will occasionally use them on German Shepherds and other stressed dogs. I really dont see a difference with them, but a kennel environment is different than a home environment. Do these things actually work for reducing stress in dogs?

Well i signed up for a Rally class with Kashmir but she couldnt physically do it. It was to stressful on her back and knees with her arthritis. I asked the teacher and they approved me switching dogs and using Zoe. I had some reservations about using her as she is 10 and her sight is starting to go. Well long story short, she loved it! I actually taught her to go to a target and she picked it up in 2 mins!! happy dancehappy dance I am so proud of my old girl...you really can teach an old dog new tricks!! cheer She light up when we were working in class!

I have sort of the same problem with Kashmir. She doesnt drool but she will pant and get herself all worked up while in the car. When i had my first car she would sit, laydown and settle in the backseat. After changing cars 2 times, she wont settle or even sit. I could be driving for 3 hours and she will stand the whole time. Im picking up a thundershirt soon to see if that helps. But good luck with Ranger.
