uh-huh. Yeah, I read back through this post after I posted. red face

Just stating my opinion and experiences. Didn't want to get in the middle of a battle big grin

All good points and it's definitely best to be informed then make the decision that is best for you and your pet. In my case, it was neutering. way to go

I agree with Ginger. Good breeding has so much to do with these traits.

Generally, if you see a breed used as a service dog in any capacity, it will have these characteristics. These breeds have to have the capability to be completely loyal, but high energy when needed.

GSD, Lab, Aussie...these are just the first that come to mind.

If you have ever been duck hunting with a well bred Lab then you will see all the calm/patient/trusting...then the engery/focus/excitement in one pupway to go

Missy, you know I have epilepsy...

Well mom tried to feed me all the wonderful high quality EXPENSIVE dog foodsbig grin trying to extend my life and improve my quality of life.
I wouldn't eat it. I puked it. I think it was the high levels of protein, whatever it was, it wasn't working. I lost 10 lbs in a year from vomiting up bile several times a day and not really ever eating a full meal unless it had people food mixed in.

The vet told mom that eating anything and keeping it down was better then eating the BEST dog food and not keeping it down. So mom bought me a $3 bag of dog food from the grocery store, BOL, and I chomped it. Gained all my weight back, I have shiny fur, plenty of energy and I am 10 years old going on 6
big grin

Don't feel bad feeding Missy less then the highest quality food. Just find what she likes to eat, can keep down, and stick with thatway to go

I think leaving your cat overnight after a spay is a pretty normal thing... I do understand your concerns, and applaud you for being aware of your pets needs.

But..it IS a low cost clinic...they probably don't have staff overnight because that would cost more...You do get what you pay forshrug

I agree a vet has taken an oath and you would think they would put the pets needs first. BUT...do you really want to take a new pet to the same clinic with that kind of care?? Nope. So just move on and maybe right a review for your local paper or something.
