Black Gold (Normally I wont recommend but they are starting to really shape up!) has a grain free lamb and rice.. Turk loves it, and Scarlett has been on it since I got her, but im beginning to think I should have her on a puppy food and switch her when shes older

biscuit, Thanks smile its almost been 4 months, but its still not gotten any easier. Scarlett helps, but shes got some big shoes to filllaugh out loud
I guess its pretty bad when you depend on your dog for so much comfort and love and to help you with your own troubles and then they pass and then you are constantly looking FOR them to help with how you feel and its because OF them you feel the way you do.
But yet you cant help but feel that way about them.confused Catch 22.

Champ and Candice: I cant express how much you've helped me with encouragement and etc.Thank youhug I need to do more of meditate

Dogs and a Clean Home > What Are Your Favorite Pet Products?

Scarlett

Did I eat that?- Yes I did!

Barked: Fri Apr 12, '13 9:41am PST
1. Vaccuum cleaner with pet hair attachments! (not to be used on your pet..but to get hair out of nooks and crannies!)

2. woolite pet stain remover (puppy potty training anyone??)

3.Furminator!

4. RuffDawgs "The Stick" .. so tough it can not be eaten by Turk, my staffie mix who can eat ANYTHING..Kongs included. We think its because the center is hallow. Either way, their brand of toys are great..and reasonable

That's all I can think of for now.

Biscuit, I hear you on school work... I am always swamped!! Its a wonder I get anything done. I am so glad I get a week break here coming up.. I think my last final is the 28th of april and am off til may 7th. laugh out loud

Kasey loved Layla.. I wish I had gotten more pictures of them together, She fussed over her worse than a old mother hen! laugh out loud If someone was holding her and she cried, Kasey was the first one up (and that wasn't the easiest task for that old girl, but she'd be up in 2 seconds and across the room!) then she would follow you around with her nose on laylas foot until she calmed down.laugh out loud TURK on the other hand.. he would shake when she cried and took off and hid when she pooped!big laughbig laugh He's stepped up a little bit since Kasey passed.

Now Scarlett does WONDERFUL with Layla, I am proud to say. I want to post with her..but its too hard to

Im so sorry that Dylan passed frown But im glad Kasey and Dylan have each others company at the rainbow bridgelittle angel
Well...back to the algebra I go... precal next term.

Golden Retriever > Taking My Goldie To College?
Kasey(Imissy- ou)

I know this is an old thread, but I'd just like to respond anyway for future posters/readers.

I am three things: a new mother, a college student, and a golden retriever owner.

I moved Kasey from a house with 5 acres to run (and six other dogs) to a 2 bedroom apartment on the second floor with my fiancée's( now husband's) dog. and I tell you what, both of them couldn't be happier here in the apartment! Kasey adjusted well, and there were no issues with her "needing to run" as we are active people and took them to the beach and trail walks often as well as two fields for them to walk and play in next to us.
Kasey was an older golden, and laid back for the entire time I had her (age 3 and up).

so it all depends on the golden, their temprement and energy level, and etc.

I, for one, would NEVER leave my dog behind. EVER. It was simply not an option. It was more stressful for her when I would have weekend trips with my husband (then fiancee') and then come back than it was to move her out and into an apartment.
If someone told me I was being "unfair" to my golden because I had her in an apartment, I probably would have decked them in the nose. laugh out loud

Kasey passed away on Christmas eve due to a fast moving cancer that went undetected between vet visits.

My current golden is a bit more active than she was..but then again, shes a puppy.. but she is very happy here too

Yoshi: Yep! I was about 22 weeks pregnant at the time.. not my master plan for life..but my life has never gone according to plan! I had went to my doctor to try and figure out a plan for "planning a family" since chris and I wanted to get my body regulated before our wedding. We planned for an October 11th wedding, and I had my doctor appointment in January. My doctor told me it'd be awhile, after I stopped my pills. Right..I was pregnant two days later. One of my doctors during pregnancy said its very unusual for a woman who had endometriosis to conceive so quickly AND without any fertility help. Guess the Lord wanted us to have Layla when we did smile even if it wasn't quite what I was wanting at the time! So we pushed up the wedding date a few months and that was fine with me. smile I barely was showing at the wedding. But I learned my lesson!! lol..never listen to a man..my body is crazy and goes right back to normal when you stop BCP (which is unusual actually)..if only I had known that beforehand lol

and thank you for the condolences.. I definitely did not expect to loose Kasey so suddenly..she was happy go lucky Kase in the days before! And she LOOOVEEEEEDDDD Layla...she thought Layla was HER's from day 1.. man I miss her. You have no idea.

Saying Goodbye: Memorials & Support > My sweet angel girl :(

For those of you who knew Kasey all of these years, knew something of a legend. She's the stuff movies are made of. She saves the life of her human, and her human saves her life. She "talked" when she was excited and knew no enemies..

Kasey, the one who has gotten me through heartaches and heartbreaks (and not just from men!.. Im talking family heartbreaks) , no longer can help me through the biggest heartbreak of all.
Yesterday afternoon I noticed her reluctance to want to go outside and play, walk, and go potty..which isn't too unusual considering its been cold and rainy here and for a dog just shy of her 10 year old birthday that kind of weather meant achy joints and a "id rather stay inside, thank you" attitude. But then I noticed she didn't greet me when I returned home from the last of my Christmas shopping. Then I noticed she didn't want to get up..and had a hard time laying down. She got up twice during the night for water (and I brought her small bowls full since im getting up every few hours to nurse my 10 week old daughter and checked on my first daughter with fur then)This morning, she tried to get up, but her legs gave out from under her, she was labored in her breathing, and looked awful. I feared bload since now her stomach was painfully swollen. My husband rushed home from work, and we rushed her to the nearest vet that was open only to be told she was bleeding massive amounts of blood internally, and it was caused probably by a tumor on either her spleen or liver, but there was too much blood to tell, and even more possibly cancer. The bleeding was going into her lungs already and the chance of her surviving surgery was next to none, and the chance of her making it through the night..or even a few more hours, was next to none. She had very little blood pressure. So, We let my guardian angel go home to the rainbow bridge because I couldn't stand to see her suffer.

My sweet girl, devoted to me, always, even in her last minutes of life. And was devoted to my daughter the minute I brought her home for the first time.

Kasey, I love you very much! Forever and Ever! No other dog could ever replace you and your love that you showed to me. Thank you for showing me how to love once again when I forgot how. Rest in peace my darling angel. And always, My guardian angel.little angel
