Saying Goodbye: Memorials & Support > Farewell Dreamy
Dreamy

Queen of my- castle.

Barked: Tue Jan 24, '17 11:51am PST
I haven't been on here in a very long time but at one time, I was on here daily. I feel that I need to be here right now. Dreamy passed away last night in her sleep at 12 1/2 years old. She was goofy and happy every day, right up till the end. Her death was totally unexpected as she was acting totally normal yesterday. She was even scheduled to have surgery in 2 weeks to have a tumor removed. We are all in shock. She will be terribly missed by all of us.

Raw Food Diet > Oh the joys of raw!
Sparkles

Wait for me!!

Barked: Wed Dec 2, '15 7:44pm PST
I just wanted to share. I finally switched Sparkles to a raw diet after years of struggling with her diet, allergies, and yeast outbreaks. It's been about a week and a half so far. She's been able to handle chicken and turkey which she couldn't in dog food. Her yeasty ears and feet are clearing up and she hasn't been anywhere near as itchy as she used to be with noticeable improvement every day. What's even better is we've only spent about $10 on her raw food so far when before it was choosing us $80 a month for her food.

Bulldog > Skin issues...home remedies?

Sparkles

Wait for me!!

Sparkles has issues too. Anything from yeasty ears to corneal ulcers from dry eye. At one point, her skin became scabby all over her body and she had yeast infections in random places on her skin. We found out that adding a tablespoon of organic coconut oil to her food morning and evening helps dramatically. Her fur is soft and shiny and she's energetic and healthy. She also has to eat only grain free and fish based food since grains fuel yeast and she's allergic to so many proteins. We recently added the organic Apple cider vinegar to her food morning and night also because she still has some yeasty issues in the winter but that's mostly because she has to wear a cone and she gets snow in it which gets her chest wet lol. These bulldogs, love them, but they have the biggest issues lol

Dog Health > Itchy Bullie... Tried Everything!

Sparkles

Wait for me!!

We've had serious problems with Sparkles being itchy. Hers turned out to be a combination of gluten sensitivity and allergies. We put her on wellness core ocean. It has no grains, is poultry free and gluten free. She also gets a tablespoon of organic coconut oil in her food twice a day. Her itchiness has dramatically decreased. I recommend trying something like that. Sparkles still gets itchy if she hasn't had a bath in a while. We use a tea tree oil shampoo. Try avoiding oatmeal and looking for tea tree oil. Some dogs, especially ones with yeast issues (like our Sparkles) can't use shampoo with oatmeal in it because it agitates the yeast and makes them itchier. Good luck!)

I honestly don't know. I don't know the family personally. It's just something that's happened locally that the media didn't cover.

In my hometown, Haley, an 8 year old bichon was fatally scalded at a grooming salon. Please help show your support to her grieving family.
