Senior Dogs > Active Dogster Groups for Senior Dogs?
Monty

I live to dig

I haven't found any active groups either, Ginny. There's a great group on the cat side, and I wish we had one over here, because it's nice to have that support group.

Dog Health > Afraid to ask but need to know about knee problems in small breed dogs

Foxie

Garnet, it is probably luxating patellas (or popping knees). Sadly, a large majority of small breed dogs have this condition. I have it, sometimes they pop out, but they go back in. I just live with it. My mom keeps me at good weight.

Advantage Multi is quite a good product, and the protection of a multi dewormer is really great. The vet probably just wanted the safety of one multi purpose medication, but use what you're comfortable using. I've used adv. multi since sentinel has been off the market, and it works well.

I'm glad Scruffy is doing better! Hang in there. Zane is losing alot of weight. He is down to 68 lbs. and I can get my fist under his collar. He is losing muscle mass due to the loss of protein. But he is still happy.

Dog Health > Increased drinking & urination?

Increased drinking and peeing could also indicate kidney problems. I have been battling a weird kidney problem called glomerular disease where I'm losing protein through my urine.

5 is still relatively young for a small dog. Absolutely get her spayed, it will prolong her life.

Dog Health > Experience with allergy tests?

Yeah, allergy tests are not that conclusive. Alot of dogs do better with home cooked meals, there are no preservatives and everything is fresh.
