They do not tend to be yappy...inside, they are velcro dogs, get loose outside??? They don't know you, so be careful!! They NEED OB training. Great dogs. Rottweiler > HOME OWNER'S INSURANCE

We have a Rottweiler...very sweet dog, never off leash outside of yard, never any complaints, always licensed, UTD on all immunizations, well behaved. Rottweiler > 10yr old rottie with large mass behind stomach

C.J. I'm a lover, not- a fighter!     Barked: Sun May 27, '12 4:51pm PST  I lost my first Rottie to CA. He was almost 3 weeks shy of his 10th birthday when he died. From the time he was diagnosed with cancer till the day he died, about 8 months, he was happy and really LIVED life. He had pain meds when he needed it, but that was all. His BAD time, at the end, lasted about 8-12 hours till we could get him to the vet to ease him out of this life. The path you choose to take with your dog is entirely up to you. He's 2-1/2 years old, so he's not fully grown. He'll switch back and forth between Prairie and Instinct by the time he's 4. He loves it! The better the food, the more nutrients your dog's body utilizes, therefore, less poo, better health. Lots of people see the prices of premium foods, such as Nature's Variety, and say "No way will I pay THAT much for DOG food!!", but the better the food, the healthier the dog, and that means less trips to the vet! Bubba is 140+ pounds. He eats 1-1/2 cups of food twice a day as a maintenance diet. He is in excellent condition. Also, would I really want people freaking out over my loose 140+ pound Rottweiler??? I don't think so! I wish I could have copies on hand to just hand out to people who automatically think that Bubs is a "killer"! He's a wonderful dog, but does NOT take kindly to strangers getting too "personal" and "familiar" with him.
