CJ loves people. He's 20 months old, so some instincts may not have "kicked in" yet. I like the fact that he's approachable! I find that the "bad" people are scared and the "good" people give him a chance.

Schipperkes are fantastic dogs that usually end up ruling the roost! Read up on them. They do not tend to be yappy...inside, they are velcro dogs, get loose outside??? They don't know you, so be careful!! They NEED OB training. Great dogs. I have a Rottweiler, but I can see adding a Schipperke someday!

Rottweiler > HOME OWNER'S INSURANCE

C.J.

I'm a lover, not- a fighter!

We're buying a home in Southeastern PA and wondering what insurance company is best to go with. We have a Rottweiler...very sweet dog, never off leash outside of yard, never any complaints, always licensed, UTD on all immunizations, well behaved.
Is there an insurance company we should look at that doesn't discriminate against certain breeds?
Thanks.

Rottweiler > 10yr old rottie with large mass behind stomach

I lost my first Rottie to CA. He was almost 3 weeks shy of his 10th birthday when he died. From the time he was diagnosed with cancer till the day he died, about 8 months, he was happy and really LIVED life. He had pain meds when he needed it, but that was all. His BAD time, at the end, lasted about 8-12 hours till we could get him to the vet to ease him out of this life.
The path you choose to take with your dog is entirely up to you. Good luck to you!

Bubba eats Nature's Variety Prairie, varying formulas. He's 2-1/2 years old, so he's not fully grown. He'll switch back and forth between Prairie and Instinct by the time he's 4. He loves it!
The Prairie Salmon is one of his favs!

Food & Nutrition > less poo on better food?

Your dog will eat less quantity and poo less/smaller with a higher quality dog food. Why? The better the food, the more nutrients your dog's body utilizes, therefore, less poo, better health.
Lots of people see the prices of premium foods, such as Nature's Variety, and say "No way will I pay THAT much for DOG food!!", but the better the food, the healthier the dog, and that means less trips to the vet!
Bubba is 140+ pounds. He eats 1-1/2 cups of food twice a day as a maintenance diet. He is in excellent condition. His poo is smaller than the neighbor's 45 pound dog who eats whatever is on sale!

Bubba is extemely well trained and quite capable of being off-lead, however, there are leash laws we have to obey. Also, would I really want people freaking out over my loose 140+ pound Rottweiler??? I don't think so!
I agree with you that people are annoying with their off-lead dogs.

THE BEST profile I've ever seen or heard was on Dogs 101 on the Rottweiler...spot on!
I wish I could have copies on hand to just hand out to people who automatically think that Bubs is a "killer"!
He's a wonderful dog, but does NOT take kindly to strangers getting too "personal" and "familiar" with him. I don't either!

I would have a talk with the management. These new neighbors of your's are acting VERY irresponsibly!
Good luck.
