To boldly go- where no Ted has- gone b-4!

Oh, wow! Is this a breed thing or a dog thing in general? There have been several doggies in our human family, but Ted is the first one to just go "lick crazy". He starts off on his paws, then works his way to his pillow and then to anything else--my pillow, bedspread, carpet... you name it. Could it *possibly* be because a treat was there in the vacintity at some point? What can be done to break them of this habit?

A little late to this party, but never mind - Holly's mad about licking stuff as well, everything she can get her tongue on. She even, recently, has been licking her front legs so much she's starting to make them bald. There's never anything we've been able to do about the licking itself, but I think the compulsively licking her legs might sometimes be down to boredom. - Jen
