marley is still not sure if he likes the pool..............he LOVES the hose hes just not sure about the pool yet!

any tips on easing him into it?? also does everyone use a lifejacket??? wave

When we first got Savvy she did not like the water. Not a bit.
She would get in a splash around a little, but showed not tendency to do anything more.

We live near the ocean and one day I took her over there. She was splashing around and had her back to the surf when a gentle roller came in and lifted her off her feet. She looked amazed. And started swimming immediately. Never stopped since.

I think it is so natural to them that you will find Marley just dives in sometime and takes it from there.

Well, what I would do is throw a tennis ball into the water and have him fetch it till he gets used to the water. Whatever you do, dont throw him into the water! My neighbor did this with his chocolate lab, and the dog is now terrified of water!
