I have an 8.5 year old yellow lab who runs a lot and for 2 months now has been bunny hopping and limping mostly her back hind legs. The vet said that she probably has arthritis and to give her supplements. SHe is having a hard time getting up the stairs and lifts her right back leg sometimes. Do you think this is arthritis or hip dysplasia? I read that the only treatments are supplements or prescritpion for the joints. Do you have any advice? I would appreciate it. My husband says we shoudl get an x-ray but I don't think there is anything that can be done about dogs getting old and getting arthritis. I would never put her under the knife to get a fake hip, etc. I feel that whatever is meant to be is meant to be. WE love her like she is our daugther.
