 | | | | We adopted a 'Beagle' from a Blue Cross animal shelter over summer. I am absolutely and totally in love with him, but I'm sure he isn't a Beagle!
His ears are much shorter than a Beagle's; the KC states that a Beagle's ears should touch their nose when pulled forward, Snoop's go nowhere near that far! Secondly, he has a distinctly un-Beagle shape. He isn't stocky chunky like cute little Beagle's. His nose is longer and more terrier like, and he has those big brown eyes like Jacks! He is obsessed with squirrels/hedgehogs/foxes/cats. He will run around and around in the garden in circles with his football or tennis ball in his mouth, growling. But only so long as we are watching him. He is very needy and hates it when we leave the room. He will always choose to sit on your lap rather than alone, he has no concept of the fact sofas are for humans. The same goes for our bed.
He lives with two GSDs, and constantly wrestles with the dog! He also has a JRT bitch friend, who he winds up to no avail; she doesn't like to play!
The other Jack type thing he does is the way he lays on his front with his hind legs splayed out behind him; I've only ever seen a Jack do this.
Snoopy's haunches reach my knee and I am 5'4". He has seen vets at the Blue Cross and a vet since and neither have said anything about him not being a Beagle, but I'm not convinced!
Snoopy is a very pretty dog, he is just too good looking to be a pure Beagle! (it is very hard to find pictures of Beagles as beautiful as my boy, and that's not just my bias!)
Any suggestions as to what my Snoop the Loop is?! | | | | |
