Ok I live in Missouri... Peeve just started playing with a toad... I dont know how long he was playing with it but I noticed him and took the toad away.... his chin was all slobbery and slimy... like when a big dog is excited or nervous(you know the drool strings?? lol) it didnt look like any came from the frog...however Id like to know... is the caution to not let your dog play with frogs due to them being poisonous a very real thing??? or is it just an old wives tale and toads are completly harmless??? I was doing research on it... I mean hes begging for treats and drank a ton of water so obviously hes not bothered by it. I was looking at articles and the different responses,.... there are those on both sides of the argument.... dont let your dog play with toads and if they do... watch them and if you notice anything out of the ordinary ... rush him to the vet.... on the other hand there are the replies that say its harmelss and any ill effects go away in 5 -10 min and its just a nasty taste to keep predators away.... what is your take on the situation????

We actually haven't had any experience with toads yet. I am really glad about that. I have only seen toads or frogs in the yard twice. I do try to keep an eye on what the girls are getting into since we have had baby bunnies, ducklings and who knows what else in the yard.I have to take them out on leash when its time to potty. That way I can keep track of what is going on. They are so fast that its the only way I can keep up with them. You know if they see something they have to go in opposite directions.lol!! We have been dealing with a bunny in the yard as of recently. It likes to leave little doggy presents and the girls think they need them EWWW!!! With two they keep me on my toes.

lol with Peeve its ... oooohhh interesting... lets play.. and nothing can get him away from it.... I honestly think that they are harmeless. but since there is two sides to the story here.. Id like others opinions...

the most Peeve eats when he is out is grass... and cat poop... most dogs will due to the fact that cat poop has a higher protien content....so...yeah... Im jsut glad we dont live where there are poisonus frogs lol

Peeve we still have to get Teddy, Britnee and Peeve together! I keep asking for that Park in Riverside to fence that far side of the park for an off leash doggy park. They have been refilling the dog poop bags for us though! LOL

I've lived in Missouri pretty much all my life. Have had many dogs mess with the Toads around here and none have gotten sick. I think Peeve's good to go! ;-)
